yeah let's keep him and more than likely he will get injured again as history would suggest and we will end up carrying him and his wages till the end of next season fvcking genius

i rated him but let's get rid now pay him off
Another ITK medical man, I see. How many times have we had Gardner's knees repaired? I don't see a clamour to get rid of him! :conf:

At the end of the day I trust the club to make a decision based on the facts as they are presented to them by medical experts, unless, of course, you happen to know better.

I've never really rated Sean Davis, but we might as well give him a pre-season to see how he works alongside...whichever midfielder will be first choice before Holden comes back in November (ish).

I still think we need another CM or two capable of challenging the first team. We need a back up RM, possibly ANOTHER LM, probably a back up RB, definitely another first team challenging CB, regardless of whether Cahill leaves, and a striker with pace or two.

Sean Davis might work, depending on his fitness levels. "Paying him off" would require us giving him 50% of his remaining wages - and him agreeing to it. I doubt either would happen.

Worth reading those Coyle quotes again, though (as opposed to the flannel and supposition that surrounds them). This is, equally, my supposition, but they're guarded enough that not one of them wouldn't equally apply if he was at another club – perhaps loaned out to get fitness, perhaps loaned out with the recipients picking up a percentage of the wage bill.
OC said rather than wrote:Sean is on his way back and the specialists are all pleased with his progress up to this point. But he is still well away from being at the level Sean is capable of playing at.

It will be next season before you see Sean back to his best. But he is coming along well.

After everything he's been through he's still in great spirits. His motivation is to get back and have a career he was known for.
PS What's with all the La Liga links?

Right. Well. We'll definitely be needing a new left-back over the summer then.

"with chairman Steve Gibson keen to slash his club's £20m wage bill at least in half, and with Julio Arca, Andrew Taylor and Willo Flood the only players due to become free agents this summer"

Jesus - good luck with that, cack-tanker!

Thanks on both. In case folk don't get the reference, Gibson made his money shipping away chemical refuse that nobody else would take. That's why when he was 37 – as I am today - he oversaw Boro's move to the Riverside. I suppose he wins, and I quite like the bloke, but I wouldn't swap.
