Not so funny now either seeing as they're saying that everyone's account has been compromised by the hackers including credit card details. Ouch.Prufrock wrote:Least it isn't utterly fooked and hacked to buggery like PS3 network currently is. WANK.

Indeed. I have a big problem with both PSN and XBOX Live keeping my credit card details for that very reason. When asked if I could password protect the details (not least of which so my son couldn't just hop on and download anything he wanted to) the response came back that there was no need and no I couldn't.
As it happens, I lost the bugger anyhow about a fortnight ago so it got cancelled anyhow on the 13th and shouldn't be of any use to anyone.

Can you get all the on-demand TV stuff and Lovefilm etc with Xbox Live?BWFC_Insane wrote:Lofthouse Lower wrote:Playstation network is a superb servicePrufrock wrote:Least it isn't utterly fooked and hacked to buggery like PS3 network currently is. WANK.Good one.

Security aside, as a "service" it's no worse than XBOX Live. Do you use it BWFCI?Lofthouse Lower wrote:Can you get all the on-demand TV stuff and Lovefilm etc with Xbox Live?BWFC_Insane wrote:Lofthouse Lower wrote:Playstation network is a superb servicePrufrock wrote:Least it isn't utterly fooked and hacked to buggery like PS3 network currently is. They both have security problems. XBOX live for example doesn't deal at all well with people changing XBOX's and transferred DRM information from old device to new device. It's a fooking disgrace the way that's handled for stuff you hold the DRM playing rights to.

Isn't there an online wizard on the xbox website for you to transfer all the DRM over from one console to another? I'm sure I did this when I traded up to an elite a couple of years ago?Worthy4England wrote:Security aside, as a "service" it's no worse than XBOX Live. I don't have a PS3 but I've played a few games over PSN and I much prefer Xbox Live. Definitely there are some better features on PSN but I'm only really bothered about the game playing.Worthy4England wrote:Security aside, as a "service" it's no worse than XBOX Live. You are right that probably on Xbox we are just as liable to a security breach as on PSN.
Was only laughing that he made that particular statement today of all days!

Here it is. Worked ok for me....
http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Support/LicenseMigration/FAQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can only run it once every 12 months though.

I actually avoided having to use it last time around as my XBOX was a warranty replacement, they did it all for me.
Then we found out that I had a load of DLC on my hard drive (I say "we" - I actually already knew), that's when it all started going Pete Tonge.
As for only being useable once a year, that would be great if they ever bring out a console that can last longer than 12 months without requiring a repair.
Useless fcukers.

I don't think I had any problems when I did it although to be fair I think my first console was only six months old when I upgraded so there was probably only a couple of arcade games on there.

I'm ever-so-slightly improving on Mortal Kombat too, which = more enjoyment. Always good.
