would personally love to see 1 or 2 of the following at bolton next season

bear in mind im thinking more along the lines of players currently playing in the uk

Scott parker (him and holden in midfeild we would be like barca iniesta xavi who? LOL)

gabriel agbonglahor (really fast and strong allthough hes not the perfect fit )

boothroyd (could be a great rep for the old skd + the prospect of these 2 upfront for bolton makes me excited :P)

and with the soon to be sale of cahill we need another cb so

onohua (would be my first choice of currently available cb's)

samba (nearly left blackburn earlier this year alongside knight we would have a really strong backline to deal with aeirial threats and over the top balls not so much for the skillfull wingers though.

if we could seriously sign

gabby "aidy" :P actually meant Jay boothroyd and samba id be seriously happy and would epect bolton with our current crop to be moving forward with some serious momentum

Ohh goody another list of players we could neither afford nor attract or in some cases wouldn't want to bother with.

Scott Parker is a good if not somewhat overrated player who we'd obviously all want here. But should West Ham go down there is not a chance in hell of us being able to afford him or attract him. He will end up at Spurs I'm sure!

Agbonlahor, would be expensive for a player who has not lived up to early potential. Anyways I've heard a whisper that he's off to Stoke.

Aidy Boothroyd? I think even Allardyce might have felt he was a bit too old to bother with! But if the prospect of him up front with Davies makes you excited there are probably a few "specialist" films that some members on here could no doubt point you in the direction of!

Onouha is a decent player. Probably the one off your list who might be achievable should we sell Cahill to City but I think Coyle will be after the younger Boyata anyways.

Samba, if he's going cheap there will be a big queue including some big clubs. If he's not, well there is no point talking about it.

Boothroyd and Sturridge up front?

It might work you know.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

So's Sturridge, but he was a striker.

I'm looking for realistic targets based on the general "no f*cker will ever sign for us" scenario.

This is like the famous Cleese/Barker/Corbett sketch on class: "I look up to him because...". The vast majority of names mentioned on here (and the who-would-you-want thread) are derided for either being too down-market ("A Championship striker?!") or too up-market ("We'll never afford him!"). Even if someone's mentioned who might be attainable - say, for argument's sake, Reo-Coker - there's always some other reason to nay-say.

Fact is, we've no idea. Old examples I know but who'd have thought we'd sign Okocha or Djorkaeff? How many of us punched the air when we gave a trial - a trial, mind - to the apparently overweight and certainly unwanted Kevin Davies?

I actually meant id be excited about boothroyd and agbonglahor upfront mate

and to be honest gabby and aidy arent out of our reach at all though i do kinda feel the same about scott parker he wont be coming to bolton but honestly id like to see him here as i say our midfield with him and holden would be special^^

another idea for a striker if boothroyd is too old

That elmander lad he was crap when he started in the prem but hes benn quite good this year and i hear hes on a free so the only problem there is the contract ive allways been a backer of elmanders ablitity not to mention he is leagues ahead of klasnic and davies for us even on a bad day and hes tall so we could just make him our target man and forget the old pump it to skd thing and just pump it up to the Johan instead^^

Tell you what mate I'll do you a deal.

I think its a good one no doubt you'll agree.

If Aidy Boothroyd is playing up front for BWFC next season I'll give you £50 Million pounds.

If he isn't you only have to give me £100.

Fair?
