Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

An aside

Him, a boyhood Hammer too4.48pm "Embarrassing miss by Robbie Keane," says Simon Frank, doing my job for me. "Three-yard tap-in and he slices the ball off the inside of his foot. To think, he signed for Inter."
4.47pm Robbie Keane has missed an absolute sitter for West Ham! He might need an injunction to keep a few angry West Ham fans away from him after that. We don't have footage here but, from what the fellas have said on Soccer Saturday, it sounds like a shocker, and it could be a very expensive one for West Ham. Who says you don't pay a fee for loan signings?

It has been good. But it's this bitter taste it's going to leave that seems to nullify everything else... Thought we could get at least 8 points from our last 5 games...Lofthouse Lower wrote:just waiting for the overreaction.....we're shit etc........because this hasn't been the most enjoyable season in five years ohhhh no

Thought we were going to win that it the end.
Mr. Oz think back to the last Sunderland game at the Reebok. As bad as this one seemed to you, that game was much worse if I recall right.

It could have been nice if it ended at Wembley, just not on our first visit to Wembley...Gaz Tomorrow wrote:just waiting for the overreaction.....we're shit etc........because this would've been the most enjoyable season in five years if our season hadn't ended at Wembley.

This is still largely Megson's team, and instead of battling relegation we're in the top half. With the right investment we could move in the right direction.
Things are SO much better than 18 months ago. People need to give over with the knee-jerk reactions.

Yeah i agree LL but still, it just leaves a bitter feeling to what has been (as you say) a great season. We've done what a lot of us at the start of the season thought unthinkable, so it feels like a huge let down to have it thrown away now.Lofthouse Lower wrote:This is still largely Megson's team, and instead of battling relegation we're in the top half. No it doesn't.
We've got a tiny squad and NO strength in depth. It's a testament to the abilities of the lads and the coaches to be where we are.

Utterly abysmal. Just don't know where we're going to go this summer. Half that team are knackered the other half can't be arsed! Without Holden I don't think we've moved on at all since last August. Were no better a side apart from Sturridge who isn't ours. In some ways we are worse Kevin Davies just can't play every game or doesn't want to. Let's not brush this under the carpet what could have been a good season is ending up no better than 2 seasons ago. We need to see some real progress this summer and not more false dawns!

To be honest I'm buzzin, not about today but about this season...I didn't expect us to perform today with nothing to play for but how far we've come as a club since coyle came in is good, next season will be the proof of coyles talents but I'm optimistic.
Roll on the away day at the seaside next week, not expecting muchother than a good day out.

Not good to see the row between Sturridge and that useless shower of shit Elmander.
Mandy bawling 'for the team, for the f ucking team' at Studge isn't something I like to see

Not managed to catch the match, what's this about elmo shouting at sturridge , suggestions that elmo cares or more bothered about sturridge being selfish

Totally agree...that was shambolic and yet again totally spineless and awful to watch....if the players can't be arsed then neither should the fans. You can count on one hand the good games we've had this season when we have played well (ok maybe 6 or 7....), how we have got to 46 points is a feat in itself with this shower - so you have to take your hat off to OC for thatBWFC_Insane wrote:Utterly abysmal. Let's see...Sunderland no away goal since Feb, no attackers in the side and surprise surprise....apart from our league position (which I admit is important) we have not improved much at all this season, we were as bad today as any time under Megson, aimless long ball after aimless long ball....when are we going to see this passing football that Coyle likes / wants to play he's had 18 months now and has hardly changed us one bit (apart from improve the spirit and togetherness....which on its own isn't enough) and he's very tactically naive - my message to OC is that talk is cheap, we need to see some change in the summer and some serious re building.
Personally for me, from the players on display today next season I don't want to see Jussi, Steinsson, Robinson, Knight (that half hearted attempt to clear the ball off the line for the their 2nd today was truly dreadful), Muamba, Taylor, Gardner and K Davies as first team players....admittedly that's maybe extreme and I don't how we can replace that many but its my opinion after watching that none performance today they are simply not good enough. If we are to improve as OC keeps saying i.e. 'its a work in progress'...then we urgently need several players who can pass and are comfortable on the ball (not just Holden)....and we desperately need pace and not just upfront.
This awful end to the season has spoiled and tarnished a reasonable season for the club in my opinion
And finally as a side note the ref today was truly shocking, totally out of his depth....
