Klasnic
Apart from Sturridge who will soon be on his way back to Chelsea, none of our players are a goal threat apart from Klasnic, yet people still complain he doesn't do enough. Unless we get a goal from Cahill or Knight from a set-peice we are completely impotent up front. Davies is hardly a goal scorer, Sturridge will be off soon, Elmander is crap, Rodrigo's hardly had a look in, Cohen sucks, Taylor is nothing like the midfield goalscoring machine he once was, blake is too old, Chungy faffs about to much with tricks instead of shooting, and Muamba...well...
Really hope we get some decent strikers in over the summer and a really good attacking midfielder as cover for Holden

We're doing well considering all our players are crap then.

Re: Klasnic
Bit hard to push his claim when he clearly can't play for more than 15mins
Re: Klasnic
I think it's less doesn't do enough than great impact sub who doesn't have the legs for 90 mins of football. I think we all know that he's about getting goals, not running back to defend. But everytime he starts, he looks woeful
Re: Klasnic
Sorry, don't agree with this as we've got a pretty good goal to game ratio (Elmo -11 Davies -8 etc) I think we're sixth highest goalscorers in the league (I'll check me facts on this but we're pretty high up).spikeykev wrote:Apart from Sturridge who will soon be on his way back to Chelsea, none of our players are a goal threat apart from Klasnic, yet people still complain he doesn't do enough. also - as has been reported elsewhere - we have the most goalscorers for one team in the premiership this season...TKIZ! wrote:Sorry, don't agree with this as we've got a pretty good goal to game ratio (Elmo -11 Davies -8 etc) I think we're sixth highest goalscorers in the league (I'll check me facts on this but we're pretty high up).spikeykev wrote:Apart from Sturridge who will soon be on his way back to Chelsea, none of our players are a goal threat apart from Klasnic, yet people still complain he doesn't do enough. Re: Klasnic
Aye, just don't get this downer on the team at the moment, this is infinitely better than the last two season of s**** that we've had. Alright it's disappointing that the season seems to have petered out but it's not been that bad. 8th in the Prem, remember thatthebish wrote:also - as has been reported elsewhere - we have the most goalscorers for one team in the premiership this season...TKIZ! wrote:Sorry, don't agree with this as we've got a pretty good goal to game ratio (Elmo -11 Davies -8 etc) I think we're sixth highest goalscorers in the league (I'll check me facts on this but we're pretty high up).spikeykev wrote:Apart from Sturridge who will soon be on his way back to Chelsea, none of our players are a goal threat apart from Klasnic, yet people still complain he doesn't do enough. 9th
Its been a good season...any season we stay up is good
But while he insists on playing Knight and Davies, its going to be more attritional than arsenal

Re: Klasnic
Is a bit baffling that when Klasnic is brought on our most mobile and most prolific striker is shunted out wide and we end up with no pace up front and our captain who has barely scored a goal from open play this season.
Not exactly a "brave decision". And Sturridge weren't best pleased. Wonder if that will affect our chances of getting him back?

Re: Klasnic
It was a joke of a decision
We could and maybe should, however, have won it through a Davies winner
Seeing as we didn't I'm able to claim Sturridge would've broken the net

Re: Klasnic
I was quite angry when I made this thread yesterday, obviously we have had a good season however we have tailed off towards the end of the season. I don't see why Klas don't get more of a chance though, the guy can bag goals given decent service, and I meant on current form bar Sturrdige he is the most lethal goalscorer we have by a mile, yet he only gets a chance when we're losing with 10 minutes to go. Last season he hit 8 goals in 12 starts, yet this season he's only been given 19 substitute appearances. I would like to see him get a chance with Davo and Elmander missfiring, that is longer than a 10 minute super-sub role
Re: Klasnic
Because when he gets a chance, he doesn't touch the ball and gets taken off at half-time.spikeykev wrote:I was quite angry when I made this thread yesterday, obviously we have had a good season however we have tailed off towards the end of the season. He's the best in the business at what he does, but he isn't a 90 minute man.
Re: Klasnic
He can play 45 minutes without touching the ball, then score.
Sadly, we don't have a team that can support that.

Re: Klasnic
Anyone who went to the Wigan game (the one we won) must know this. He was absolutely dreadful, and then out of nowhere hits it and scores. But, had we been playing someone decent and not an under strength wigan, we'd have been dead and buried by then.Choppers wrote:He can play 45 minutes without touching the ball, then score.

Re: Klasnic
No-one else I can think of in the prem, maybe the world, I'd rather chuck on for the last ten needing a goal. Otherwise, shite. Squadie.

Re: Klasnic
With his right foot? Or would he have twisted himself round enough to have got his non-swinger off the deck?CAPSLOCK wrote:We could and maybe should, however, have won it through a Davies winner

As noted, when we're chasing the game we put Klas and SKD up top for a very pace-free attack. That allows a high line which denies our creatives room. I'd love to see Sturridge and Klas up top together for the last half-hour, both have immensely quick football brains, but that would mean subbing the captain and Flick-On King, reducing our options. Unless of course we play a different system (sharp intake of breath)

We'd all like to see that DSB or even Elmo and Sturridge up top. Just to SEE what its like.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:With his right foot? But Davies seems to be picked even when he clearly can barely move. Wouldn't hurt to rest him for half an hour to have look see!
One thing that dissapoints me a bit about Coyle is that behind all the welcome bravado, positivity and attacking play, he's the most inflexible manager we've had in a long time. He's got a system and an 11 and it seems he does not like to vary it. Even the subs, you can more or less predict that if we're losing or not doing well, Muamba is usually off first. Then a winger. Then one of the strikers will be shunted wide.
I do think we need a bit more variety in what we do at times it just seems we're a bit predictable especially when we lack the movement and skill of Holden and/or Mark Davies and we don't use width particularly well.
At home against a side like Sunderland I think we needed more attacking impetus down the left than Taylor and Robbo offered. And when we introduced that, albeit too late we got some joy!
