Campbell was poor at Brum, but then again, did he suffer from the way they play ? He ran us ragged at the Reebok this year. The last decent striker Brum had was ?? Trevor Francis ?? People are talking Elmander up because he's managed 11/12 goals THIS season, and how many has he missed ? Look at his record overall he's had maybe 6 decent games in 3 years.

Just suddenly thought of Felipe Caicedo from City. He looked a very good player to me and I think he'd shine at a club that appreciate him, as he has done on loan in Spain. City only paid about 5 million for him and they couldn't expect to get that amount for him now after how little they've used him, and with his contract up at the end of next season.

I'm not saying this makes him a bad player.. But until January(?) DJ Campbell was on loan from Leicester City because he was their 3/4th choice striker.....

Yeah, that thought occurred to me the other day when I was editing something about him in a blog. The specific "something" being that some bonkers Ecuadorians have made a video dedicated to him... first video here

Anyways as you say, M3, there's not a chance of City taking him back. But there's a strong likelihood of someone in La Liga (even if not Levante) taking a shine to him, and it would probably make sense for a Spanish speaker to stay o'er yonder. Speaking of which, diddyman Mexican left-winger Andres Guardado - whom Mr Piccollo recommends in his end-of-term report – specifically wanted to stay in a Hispanic culture when he crossed the ocean.

That's quite a hilarious video. No idea what they're saying but it's still funny.
I was thinking the same thing though, it's highly likely he'll stay in Spain. The Premier League's loss will be La Liga's gain, in that case. He's scored some stunning goals for Levante this season, the two best ones weren't even in that video. If Bolton could somehow sign him I think he'd turn out to be the signing of the season, so it's a pity that it probably won't happen.

I think a loan move is the ideal option for us again next season. A young English striker who needs to get games under his belt to prove himself. Trouble is, who?!
Failing that, maybe look at Championship strikers and take a punt on one of them!

Agreed. Someone like Welbeck would be ideal.

Dear God not Welbeck, please. I know Sturridge has a bit of a sneaky-diver streak in him, but Welbeck is a serial c*nt. Someone like Welbeck, maybe, but hopefully not so like him that they make my blood boil. Him and Chr*s F*y absolutely robbed Bolton at the Stadium of Light in December.

I don't rate Welbeck, I realise he's done well this year for Sunderland. But still whenever I've seen him he's looked wank!

We've seen what happens when we spend serious money on a striker. If he doesnt deliver he is vilified. Best off signing a decent loan player.

Welbeck is going back to United. SAF wants him next season so calm down, he's not going to be available. United have a few fantastic youngsters in Ravel Morrison, Matt James and Josh King. Two midfielders and a striker there who we could definitely take two of for next season

That Ravel Morrison is supposed to be superb. Proper bell-end though

That's exactly what I've heard. If he was any trouble we could just terminate the loan deal. No major loss. However if he's awesome, everyone wins

If you want a famous player, we'll have to stump up bigger money. I assume that scouts will hear about players before they get the chance to impress you.

Not overly sold on him myself either but he seems positionally versatile, which would please OC.

We'd have to hope that the angry old knight has forgiven Coyle for taking them to a tribunal over the fee for Richard Eckersley. He's a stubborn old goat in a lot of ways, is Ferguson, but hopefully he'll realise the benefits of loaning near-finished gems.

Liverpool's probably a better source. Someone mentioned Coyle and Dalglish get on well.

Do they have anyone worth loaning, though?
