Yes, it would be 1877 on it lol.Gaz Tomorrow wrote:The symbol you designed LiOC is 10 times what we have now. I think it is everything a club badge should be. Although i'm not sure i agree on the date
Although, in my defence, we were set up in 1874, as Christchurch FC...

I know mate. I just meant it is debateable whether you put Christchurch or when we became BWFC. I hope this symbol goes to BWSA though. Best of luck and well done on a great design.LiOC wrote:Yes, it would be 1877 on it lol.Gaz Tomorrow wrote:The symbol you designed LiOC is 10 times what we have now. Thanks mate. I'd presume it'd be 1877, because that's Bolton Wanderers, and all the stuff in the club shop etc has 1877 on it.Gaz Tomorrow wrote:I know mate. I don't want to piss on anyone's chips here, and while I'm sure it is a fun topic for conversation, you do realise there is the square root of fcuk all chance of them changing it, don't you?

Don't be a spoil sport, Prufrock!

Re: Would you like to see the club badge changed?
They spent fook loads on the old one, went to the trouble of copyrighting it, printing it everywhere, basing a worldwide campaign to push the 'brand' with it, and folk reckon they'll change it coz fans don't like the ribbons, and someone has come up with a pretty alternative. Nice to discuss but I wouldn't waste my time.
Anyway, who cares if everyone hates those ribbons, some marketing prick probably decided they represent calm or some bollocks. That shit is important.

Is this not all a little bandwagon-esque? Go on, what's the beef? The folded ribbon under the previous badge is superior to the ribbon under the current one how, exactly?quote wrote:I have selected yes, it don't mind it at the moment but those ribbons have got to go!
This is just an absolutely pathetic cause celebre amongst idiots.

A share an opinion of many people and its jumping on a band wagon?Bruce Rioja wrote:Is this not all a little bandwagon-esque? Go on, what's the beef? The reason I don't like the ribbons is that I think they come out too far, they are around the same size of the logo, so when being printed etc our actual initials become less prominent.
I also think they spoil the symmetry of it as well. You have these perfectly round initials, then something just hanging down the sides.

like a snot drop hanging from a nostril
Re: Would you like to see the club badge changed?
That's a bit harsh. Band wagoning? I've heard quite a lot of fans complain about the badge. Maybe there's actually an issue?Bruce Rioja wrote:Is this not all a little bandwagon-esque? I'm not saying we'll get it changes at all, or even that there's an appetite for it, but if the majority of our fans don't like the badge, it's something that needs at least thinking about

I agree. Just another opinion. Not pathetic, not bandwagon-esque, etc.LiOC wrote:That's a bit harsh. Band wagoning? I've heard quite a lot of fans complain about the badge. Also as the fans, i think we have a right to raise something if people have issue with it. A club is nothing without it's fans, therefore fan's opinions should matter.HMX wrote:LiOC wrote:That's a bit harsh. Band wagoning? I've heard quite a lot of fans complain about the badge. Does anyone know why it changed from being a proper badge to being 4 letters?

Apparently a competition was held circa 1970 and the round thing was the winner!Armchair Wanderer wrote:Does anyone know why it changed from being a proper badge to being 4 letters?

I liked the badge we had in the nineties, it was pretty easy to doodle on school books. Them ribbons do look shite though.

Re: Would you like to see the club badge changed?
We had this same discussion (if not vote) a couple of years ago.
Each to his own, but I'll reply as I did then, that we must be struggling for proper topics if we are moaning about the badge, or what music is played after we score (as in other threads).
Some have too much time on their hands I think ???
Anyway I voted NO just to be part of it !!!!
