Re: Blackpool
Fair play Blackpool... Deserve to stay up for entertainment.
As for our lot well happy they have put the effort in but we are absolutely wank. Easy to see why, no fit centre mids, zat knight (though why Weater isn't playing is beyond most), steinson, robbo v pace, jussi losing it, finishing most games with 4 defenders/6 strikers and wingers. Interesting summer.
Hope we can finish top 10, pre April we deserved it, but what an utterly awful end to the season...
Can't see Coyle being 'hot property' this summer.

Re: Blackpool
We've just messed our season up, if results don't go our way we could finish 14th :/

With Wolves winning today, we now officially have the worst away record in the division

Re: Blackpool
The end of the season cannot come quickly enough. We're now left needing a surprise result against City at the 'Bok next Sunday to preserve a top 10 finish, when back at the turn of the year we were looking at a proper battle for 5th, and as little as a month ago we could have finished clear 6th with an FA Cup final.
Stu Holden needs to find some sort of miracle cure and get back ASAP. As does Sean Davis. As does Mark Davies. We need a complete shake up of the spine of our side, which looked so strong way back when. We need new, top quality CB's. We need new, top quality CM's. We need new, top quality strikers. And we need to have the balls to drop Jussi, who is not inspiring any confidence whatsoever, for Ali Al Habsi, who is, even in a relegation threatened side.
Get it done, Coyle.

Re: Blackpool
At least we can't finish any lower than last season but yeah, we expected a reaction against the debacle of Wemblee and got it. The we seemed to have just give out. Needs a major sort out by OC

Re: Blackpool
10th or 11th more realistic, fulham WBA and Toon are the ones who could overtake us. Fulham are at birmingham and play arse, toon and WBA play each other. I'll be disappointed to finish below two of them but you get what you deserve over a season and we have been awful for 2 / 3 mOnths of itadamworthy2002 wrote:We've just messed our season up, if results don't go our way we could finish 14th :/
Oh and Blackburn will stay up because of us. Wankers.
Re: Blackpool
Still looks fairly bleak for Blackpool with having to go to United on final day, Blackburn go to Wolves, its going to be huge!DJBlu wrote:This just crossed my mind also.TKIZ! wrote:Are we letting Blackpool win in order to send the Dingles down?

I don't even think he'd help us out any. I blame that grey goalkeeper's kit. It's unlucky.

i hate Jussi's tops this season, why are they 3 sizes too big for him? look how smart Joe Hart & Sorensson look, Jussi looks like hes pregnant

Re: Blackpool
I still think we should go with Al Habsi next season. I also think we need to have wholesale changes at the back. Knight just isn't good enough, neither is Steinsson in my book (he's lacked passion which is something as a BWFC fan I thought he would have)

Steinsson and Knight must be two of the most clueless defenders in the league. Utterly useless.

Re: Blackpool
I've backed him all the way..today I have to concede Al Habsi (unless Wigan stay up and make a bid) next season or Bogdan for me (depending how his pre-season goes). I don't want to write Jussi off completely, he's been a great keeper and one of my favourites for many years and i'd still hope he's up there competing for a place but he's just not as sharp as he was and his confidence has taken a huge blow as a result. As a stop shotter he's still one of the best and in situations such as penalties there's few id want in the sticks ahead of the land, any other set piece and my heart skips a beat.TKIZ! wrote:I still think we should go with Al Habsi next season. still..

Re: Blackpool
Agreed, the whole defence needs a rethink. Coyle is going to have to work some magic to change it up. I think one of the reasons Steinsson is so awful is that he's just not a ball playing defender, he fit perfectly into HWSNBN system but doesn't in this oneLofthouse Lower wrote:Steinsson and Knight must be two of the most clueless defenders in the league. Jussi has been a loyal servant for this club but I think he's got it into his head that he's undroppable, for a goalkeeper especially that's dangerous.

Re: Blackpool
Great game, gotta laugh at the temporary stand, temporary toilets, thoroughly lower league everything but good for them. Good fish & chips beforehand anyway.
We should've scored at 3-3 when we were all over them and they looked nervous, but yet again as soon as one of our centre midfield lose the ball we've pretty much had it. In this case it was Cohen & Gardner losing out in a bouncing ball.
Not too torn up about the result, I've seen enough losses to be gutted about this season on the road - at least it was an enjoyable game.

I don't think Steinsson ever did. He was f ucking gash under Megson, and he's not changed since. He's wank.
