Shouldn't have bought him in the first place, he's called Knight-mare for a reason.
Pfffft.

Re: Blackpool
They gave us a lesson in attacking play, Both defences poor, same as all season, But going forward they are better than us.
DJ Campbell ran us ragged in both home and away games.

Dog sh*t!!!
And I sure as hell ain't going watching the crowing sh*tty fans waving the cup that should have had our name on but for a bunch of spineless w*nkers passing themselves off as premier league players in the semis!

Re: Blackpool
All we need is to sell cahill and buy bramble to partner knight and we would go down next year with the highest goals against tally ever and if we dont find a striker the lowest goals for tally ever
Re: Blackpool
Haven't seen the goals yet, but I take it from this thread that the expectation is that we go into next season with an entirely new first XI, barring Chung Yong Lee and Stuart Holden?
Considering they're all so utterly shit, we've done quite well this season.
Not that I'm not up for a good old moan about the miserable last month, but rational thought wouldn't go amiss either.

Re: Blackpool
Another highly frustrating away game! Going forward we always looked a threat and at 3-3 we were all over them and i was sure we'd get at least a point.
Stating the obvious but defensively were all over the place. With the players available we simply cant play 4-4-2, the amount of times they ran straight through the middle of the park without a challenge was shocking. Coyle's got a lot of work to do in the summer!
Also did anyone else see Burnley's Graham Alexander sat in the Bolton end? We should of chucked him on for Steinsson.

Re: Blackpool
Any time I mention DJ Campbell on here I get slated. He's quick, he works hard, he'd be cheap, he'd make a better impact than anyone we've got up front at the moment with the exception of Sturridge, he's scored 14 this season in a relatively poor team. Yet he's shite?
I thought Knight was poor today, yet in the first half he was left facing 3 oncoming players every time they attacked as Ricky and Muamba failed to close down in the centre and Cahill got dragged wide covering a full back. He did what he could, but he had a bit of an Alamo thing going on in the first 45.

I've mentioned Campbell myself. Totally agree he's better than all but Sturridge, yet people don't seem to rate him.

he's the kinda player mid table turkish league teams spend big bucks on. like kazim richards , vassell , miller, etc.
he is better than them though.

Re: Blackpool
Whatever his past, Campbell is now a proven Premier league goalscorer. Far better we go for him, than take a punt on some unproven foreigner.

Re: Blackpool
f*ck me we gifted campbell two goals today (one possibly offside)
he made steinsson look a prick? not hard!
having said that we need a quick forward next year......and he probably would be in our price range should blackpool drop. he wouldn't be that bad IMO...

Doesn't matter who we sign to score goals if we keep picking useless dickbags like those in the back line today

Re: Blackpool
Narrr......Ali in net would be fine and he isn't new. No way we'll get two new full backs, Robbo/Steinsson (though would like to see Gardner get a try back at left back again, particularly now we might not get any use out of Alonso) and Ricketts when back will do. Wheater...Knight *shudder*.Muamba, Holden, Davies, maybe even Sean Davis, all ok but need to be fit! Chungy/Taylor/Petrov will be there...and Davies who is clearly becoming less effective and Klasnic who can't do anything but a sub role. Thats about it isn't it?Tombwfc wrote:Haven't seen the goals yet, but I take it from this thread that the expectation is that we go into next season with an entirely new first XI, barring Chung Yong Lee and Stuart Holden?

Campbell was in more space than I remember now, seeing it again. Still a good ball in but...Athers wrote:That cross from Adam was absolutely brilliant though, no?

I've only seen MoTD but from comments on here was expecting a total nightmare from Jussi... Didn't see one, didn't think he was at fault for any of the goals...

Re: Blackpool
Was amazed at how shite they were- not just individually (and yes, Steinsson's positioning is continually utterly woeful) but as a team - defensively today. Pretty worrying how Blackpool played in exactly the same way, with exactly the same formation as they've done all season, yet from the off our players seemed not to know what the f*ck they should be doing when they didn't have the ball.
Clean sheets are non-existent and we have to rely on out scoring the opposition.
+ Our two top scorers will both probably not be here next season.
+ Our 'best' defender won't be here next season.
= massive ask for Coyle in the summer.
