Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Good article in the MEN today by Trevor Baxter just saying how many contracts are up in the summer and that Coyle will be working his socks off to bring new players in
Pfffft.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Think many players will be available. Probably looking for big salaries and signing on bonuses which is a negative, but not sure how many clubs have that much to spend which will be a plus.TKIZ! wrote:Good article in the MEN today by Trevor Baxter just saying how many contracts are up in the summer and that Coyle will be working his socks off to bring new players in

Its a bollocks article.TKIZ! wrote:Good article in the MEN today by Trevor Baxter just saying how many contracts are up in the summer and that Coyle will be working his socks off to bring new players in
Firstly it talks about Coyle deciding to "cut his losses and sell Elmander" but that we'll "make a loss on his 10M fee". Aye we'll make a loss he's on a free you idiot.
Secondly there is no evidence to suggest "Chelsea won't buy a striker and Sturridge will be their first choice".
Aye of course. They won't buy anyone and Sturridge will jump ahead of Anelka, Drogba and Torres. Look there are no guarantees of Sturridge coming back at all, but the way that article is written you'd think it was already written in stone that Sturridge will play every game for Chelsea next year.

Considering how much money we're losing, it wouldn't come as a great shock to learn we're not signing too many.
S'pose it depends on how much we get for Cahill, and how much will be re-invested, and probably more importantly, how much money shed from the wage bill will be allowed back in to circulation.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

We've already taken the gamble though. There is no way of recovering our finances without staying up. Therefore there will be no choice but to re-invest in the squad. Having to rebuild the majority of the squad when Allardyce and Lee brought in the likes of Samuel, Braaten, Wilhelmsson, Cid, Michalik, Alonso, Dzemaili is when the decision was made I guess, stay up at all costs! Otherwise they could have banked the Anelka money, gone down and tried to rebuild!
We can't afford to go down. So we will have to invest in the squad accordingly.

Puts us in a difficult position player wise then, we need players and ones who'll improve the squad. It's always been that we've had to scrimp and save to get by then they gave HWSNBN money to keep us up, which he did and he invested in transfer fees and big wages which for a club our size is not sustainable for long periods

he probably just said the same as sturridge and the whole 'i just want to play football, i'll go where i can get it' line..i doubt if given the choice between our first team and there's he'd stick with wigan, even if he was the fans player of the year (all 20 of them)

Just found this off the mirror siteAl-Habsi has thrived as a regular starter with Wigan after four years on the bench at Bolton, and has no intention of watching from the sidelines again.
He added: “I feel I have established myself as a first-choice goalkeeper, and I would not like to go back to being a substitute.
"Wigan have given me the chance to show what I can do.”

To me that just says "I'd be happy to go back to Bolton, if I'm first choice"
