Common sense.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

With the conclusion of the 2010/11 season, Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Jlloyd Samuel, Joey O'Brien, Tamir Cohen and Johan Elmander will leave following the expiration of their respective contracts.
The club have also taken up a one-year option to extend Robbie Blake's deal whilst contract discussions with Ricardo Gardner and Tope Obadeyi are on-going.
Manager Owen Coyle said: "I wish all the players who are departing the club all the very best. I want to thank them for their efforts and professionalism. Ultimately when these decisions come about they're made for footballing reasons."

Surprised re Tamir. Felt he was a worthy and accepting bench-warmer. Though will make a decent Championship midfielder for someone

Re: Six out at the reebok
Very pleased about Gardner!! Robbie Blake am alright with. Experienced, good squad player, probably on quite low wages, and i imagine he's a good senior player to have around the place. All in all pleased and wish the likes of Tamir Cohen all the best, that last minute goal against Arsenal was an emotional moment for everyone and he'll be remembered as a good servant to the club.Gary the Enfield wrote:Ricardo staying? Re: Six out at the reebok
Blake will be doing his coaching badges and he's like Bolton's Bez, he provides the 'vibes'
Pfffft.

Re: Six out at the reebok
I'd rather we kept Blake as a squad player now than panicly get a random Polish forward loaner in on the last day of the transfer window as cover because we got no other options, like.

Re: Six out at the reebok
I know Coyle likes to bring his staff with him (even the kit man at Burnley) but should we really be paying 35 year old Blake's wages next year? He couldn't get a game even with others getting injuried and fatigued.
He says the renewals or releases are made for footballing reasons but as far as I can remember the Birmingham goal and hitting the crossbar on Soccer AM have been our return for half a million quid or whatever he's on.
In Owen we trust...

Whilst my knowlegde of players wages only extends as far as Football Manager, I'd be very surprised if Blake's wage was anything near the average first team players wage.

Re: Six out at the reebok
Strange one keeping Blake unless he's actively doing something "back-roomy" too. Glad we're still talking to Ricardo, but wouldn't expect it to be a 5 year deal.
Feel sorry for JO'B and to an extent Cohen - wish 'em well for the furture
Think we should probably remember JLloyd for one of the best tackles ever to concede a penalty and Elmander for his goal v Wolves.

Re: Six out at the reebok
Well with a wage bill of £46.4m my wild guess of half a million is small beer yes, but whatever it is we're a club who made a loss of £35m last year so every penny counts.

Re: Six out at the reebok
I'd rather we didn't need Blake too.
But you can bet that in three months time there'll be hell to pay on here because we didn't sign any new forwards and are limping through every game with Davo flicking them on to Mr Nobody and Klasnic managing 20 minutes a game. And no cover for when Kev is suspended and Ivan is injured/knackered/in court.
The pitchforks would be sharpened and the Megson Out bedsheets will be crudely scribbled out with Coyles name on instead. I can see it now, blood on the streets of Bolton, mini riots at every home game and people crying saying Owen is a useless twt for not keeping Blake on as cover....

Looks like you're right, unless there's been some last minute adjustment.Lord Kangana wrote:I thought that wasn't the case anymore?
I'd be pleased if Ricardo got another year and was played at left back...
