Re: Danny Ward
You'll have to explain this slowly to some of our fans. They've already decided he's shit.
The same fans who call other fans shit for calling certain of our players shit.
Carlsberg don't do irony. And even if they did, we'd still get Fosters in Bolton.
Anyway, its a pisser losing the play off final, so good luck with that and everything.

Re: Danny Ward
I agree mate, he's stepped up to each challenge he's been presented with brilliantly, and although the premiership is a different kettle of fish I fully believe he'll be able to cut it with the big boys next season or the year after. Was really rooting for you guys today, I feel if Town would have got promotion it would be great for both sides if Ward had signed up for another year loan, see what the lads really made of but alas it was not to be. Some of the people on here are really the 'glass half full' types
but i can see him being a real star for us (in my prescription rose-tinted glasses
), it's just a matter of time and experience. Anyway best of luck for next season, never a good day to see a ferguson celebrating.

Re: Danny Ward
I do hope we give him a shot next season. Would much rather have him on the bench than someone like Petrov.
Unfortunetly for some reason, our fans tend to give home-grown (I know he started at Leeds but we've had him for a good few years) players less time and get on their backs quicker.
If he doesn't make an instant impression it'll be; "he's shit, he's never going to be good enough" etc. etc. etc.
He's 19.
Where was Kevin Davies at that age?
Where was Stu Holden?
Mark Davies, even?
For some reason, anyone who comes out of our academy must be showing Rooney like potential by the time they're 18 otherwise they're rubbish.
I reckon Danny Ward has a long Premier League career ahead of him, hopefully that starts next year.

He defo looks ike he's got the potential to be a star, he's quick, strong, skillful and he's got a great cross on him. English Ronaldo maybe?, they said he wasnt good enough at first didnt they

Re: Danny Ward

Re: Danny Ward
Was thinking of Cristiano, Benitez could of got him for lfc a year before he signed for united but said he wasnt good enough.a1 wrote:wasnt ronaldo playing for some brazillian top flight team when he was 15 ?HTFC wrote:He defo looks ike he's got the potential to be a star, he's quick, strong, skillful and he's got a great cross on him. Are all our fans BWFCi or Daniel Ward himself. My own judgement is, unlike fecking Topi, he is actually a footballer, and he defo has his head screwed on. Whether he ends up a Premiership footballer, or a league two one is something we don't know, but he is still a child. Was good today, has that extra something which means hunch is he will make it. But up front. I fear I've been too committal.

He's got a fat head, which is often a barrier to being a top footballer

Re: Danny Ward
In all seriousness, we see that the lad has had two good seasons in Division 3, and now he's the answer to our problems?
Re: Danny Ward
I haven't seen anywhere that people have said he's going to solve our problems.
I think people would like to see him here and get some chances from the bench.

Re: Danny Ward
I'd say he could sit on our bench comfortably.
I've seen him play for Huddersfield a few times, and although they think he's great...I don't think he really stood out in that side as much as a "Future Premiership Star (TM)" should!
Definitely an option for the bench though, if we can't replace the players we're shipping out already.

It's when you have to get off the fecker that you get found out... (See Ali Dia - Southampton)

He played in a few of the pre-season tour games. Didn't look ready then, so I guess we'll get another look in this pre-season coming round.

You reckon? He didn't really do owt. Mind you none of Huddersfields players did.Prufrock wrote:Are all our fans BWFCi or Daniel Ward himself. The plan went very well indeed. Although I'm not sure where this cut on my head came from.

Re: Danny Ward
Looks a bit greedy to me does Danny Ward, tries to shoot from distance far too often and if he had tried to pick somebody out at the far post rather than shoot from a tight angle then Huddersfield could have scored.

Re: Danny Ward
What you won't know till it's tried is how good he is whenn passing the ball to, or receiving passes from and being defended by, Premiership players.
I'm assuming Coyle has some feel for that, which is why we still have him here. The pre-season will show if he's in line for a shout this year. I'd have been happier to have seen in tested this year at Championship level after doing so well for Swindon last time.
At 19+ he needs to show he's thereabouts.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
