Aye, half a season is well pushin it.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Too many times this season I paid my money to see Davies, lolloping around in an uninterested and what I can only describe as "bored" state. In select games he played well. The rest of the time he was utterly shite.

And his goal ratio is simply not good enough, not for a man who is up front every game and takes the penalties. In fact its fairly embarrassing.

I'm not interested in past performances its about time folk judged him on what he's been doing. Anyone who's honest and can see past all the "super kev" nonsense can see it.

Oh, you mean that Kevin Davies. The one who gets the ball banged to him two feet over his head thirty times a game and is supposed to win it and then be on the other end of it to score because there's rarely anybody near him to do much else. A man who doesn't accept "injured", even playing when he is, and is available for every game come what may. A man who get the shxt kicked out of him every game and never moans. The one who regularly gets high up there on the assists list and still manages to bang a few in every year. That Kevin Davies?

Most of that is just a pure myth. Plain and simple.

He has the same assists I believe as Elmander. And less goals. Yet he played up front all season.

He gets the same service as all our other strikers do, unless you want to create a case that Elmander and Sturridge get beautiful defence splitting through balls yet Davies just gets it lumped up to him.

You're never going to see it TD. The number of games this season where Davies just hasn't looked bothered. The number of times we've had superb counter attacks only for Davies to get involved and misplace a pass or fall over.

Look he's been absolutely superb for us and no doubt there is still a big role for him to play. But lets not kid ourselves that he's some sort of superhuman legend who does no wrong. He's been shit for large parts of this season. Elmander has been called all sorts of names under the sun, but has still managed to bag more goals and equal assists than "super" Kevin Davies.

Perhaps he was distracted with all his "twittering" about pop tarts and donkeys. Who knows. But he gets away with an awful fooking lot. And I for one am a bit fed up with it.

I'd like to dispute this Elmander stat.

When exactly has he exceeded SKD's assists? And by how much?

Yeah, me too. Kev was leading the charts in assists for a Striker

According to http://www.premierleague.com/page/Statistics" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they both had 6 assists this season. Chungy finished on 8.

Is it the same when all competitions are taken in to account?

I suspect the truth lies somewhere between these two views.

Probably...we'll be fecked if Davies plays as many games next season as this though, be like playing with 10 men after November if he's on two games a week. Sure Coyle said he was going easy on the training now as well so he must know.

I'm not being funny but did any of you see any of the games we played without SKD? Dear God we were dreadful, both at Burnley and Wigan away in the cup (i know we won, but the only thing that went for us is how bad wigan are) when I saw us. And I'd put alot of money that Davies' absense was the major reason for that. There was just a huge gaping hole in the team where Davies normally is, whether that was in the attack or just all over the pitch. He works so hard for the team, not only in the attack. Now I don't think he's had his best season and we shouldn't be so scared to sub him, but when he's been good, he's been fantastic, and there's no way Elmander was better than him when both of them were playing well.
