Not sure what to make of this- well I do, I'm thinking it's bollocks- but said person has a fair few followers including quite a few sports writers.

Guess he can't fit in with all the strikers we presently have.

Also says brilliantly-named right-back Angel Rangel is on a free. Regarded as one of their best players. Just sayin'.

They have a lot of followers because it's that bloke who was pretending to be Alan Smith's ex bird...

Most right-backs in the galaxy are better than Steinsson

Thats because he was always played out of position.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Too right...his position should have been sat on the bench with his full tracksuit on.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez wants Al Habsi after he became a hero in their successful fight against relegation and was voted their Player of the Year, but Bolton are holding out for £3m plus appearance cash.

An update from Alan Nixon.

This is looking more and more like the end for Ali. I hope we don't live to regret this decision. £3m doesn't sound like a lot of money even if he is 29 but it is still coffers in the pot.

Wigan are ready to buy loan-star keeper Ali Al Habsi - after making a new and increased £3million offer to neighbours Bolton.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has pledged to land the Oman international, who was a stand-out during a season-long loan spell as he helped Wigan stave off relegation from the Premier League and has now upped his bid in an attempt to seal the deal.

Al Habsi is keen on the move and hopes for permission to seal the transfer over the weekend.

I guess with the Cahill money, Al Habsi money and ridding ourselves of a few deadwood wage-takers, we have a really good opportunity to rebuild the squad this summer.

Meh. Habsi is good, but no better than Jussi regardless of age

Sides like the Red Scum cannot have a team full of World Superstars. They need the water carriers and squad members. Some of these look OK in a good side that tend to dominate opponents.

Wes Brown is that type of player. No better than an average player. With his wages at Man U I don't think it would be wise to sign him.

Brown is a good player but is under contract until 2013, and is 32 this October.
