West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Someone like QPR will stump up serious wedge for him.

He's really not worth it.

Not really surprised, he's rubbish yet still manages to get paid.
But is exactly the kind of signing that Norwich City will make and then announce his type as being a statement of their intent!

At least if we signed Upson Kevin Davies would score in training!

I think you've inadvertently hit the nail on the head.

We sign Upson for someone else.

Perhaps we can send him as a Gift/Trojan Horse to the Venky's? Its been a while since we won at Ewood...

Big Sam reveals his only reason for taking the West Ham job...

Good to know your new manager is there because of a new ground that you haven't yet got.

Oh dear Sam ... you've clearly not yet recruited your spin doctor, have you !?

You are supposed to say you've taken the job to get this great club back to where it belongs. You must mention history, playing "the Wet Spam way". Reference to Bobby Moore & Trevor Brooking is a must.

You should say that the passion of the David Twins, the drive (& opportunity to knock one off with) Karrrrren P were the swaying factors. Tradition, history, the magnificent & knowledgable fans all should be prime. Reference to Pearly Queens, the Queen Mum, Diana & the Kray Twins is a must.

In fact the Olympic Stadium should be a something which is sad, but inevitable and that leaving Upton Park will be very sad day indeed.

Tut, tut, tut. Just wait till that first long throw & all this will be hurled back at you.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I wonder what Karrrrren is making of all this? What with her being an expert and all on football?
Pfffft.

How to become a Hammer in one easy lesson! Should have got it in about the "academy" and how he remembers Lampard senior and Billy Bonds etc, all good cokneys, and how he was thrilled by that goal of Trev's that stuck in the top corner of the net and all that. Come on Sam, buck up.

This thread keeps giving. Big Sam was our manager when it started.

Yes, but he was a shit long ball merchant then who was destroying the English game.

He's now discovered the West Ham Way, so hopefully he'll be England manager inside 18 months.

The sad thing about Sam is he was always a better manager than the Whammers (not to mention the Toon fanatics and the chicken chappies) gave him credit for. Now the Whammers have him but he may be past it. Especially in the Championship.

I find it hard to believe he will be able to equal or better the job he did with us. For a whole raft of reasons. I doubt any journalist would tackle this point, because it would be to acknowledge that we got the best of someone and they merely followed us. Its nothing new.

He came to us young, ambitious, hard-working, with some tactical know-how and some interesting ideas re fitness he picked up in the US. He has since become bitter (can't really blame him after Newcastle, Blackburn and Panorama), big-headed (with no satisfactory reason beyond his achievements with us), and with tactics that are passé in the premiership and would never work in the championship. I too find it hard to think he will equal his record with us. He may bring them back up depending on the porn cash outlay I suppose.

Oh I think he's still capable of doing a very good job. But we undoubtedly got the best of him.

Managers, and never the players, are always at fault. It's a West Ham thing. Won't affect Sam; he's gone there to manage a stadium.

 fantastic stuff - they really are the gift that keeps on giving!! All the better for the occasional burst of sanity!! (re. signing diouf)
I don't like him.

But I fear that the good ship "Moral High Ground" has long since sailed from West Ham's harbour anyway.

Do they make a model kit of it? Only I never heard of that one. What a real crew the Spammers supporters are. They just got relegated because they're such a superior side and already want to sack the new manager and hate players that are just rumours. Julian Dicks? Oh aye, he was a real role model for the beautiful game he was. Talk about living in the past.
66 was fifty five years ago lads, buck up. Then again, carry on do, you're the new goon show.
