Still, its hardly last week either way.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I think you'll find that Tango years, a little like 'dog-years' last just a little longer than normal ones !!CAPSLOCK wrote:45

But those West Ham fans saying he's a c*nt for serial spitting are right...
And those saying he's past it are probably right even in the championship...
And if any of em says 'Bolton fans wouldn't want him back' - they are also right...
And those that sang 'El Hadj Diouf will spit on you...' - were wrong...

Pantomime villain. There are plenty of footballers who've done far worse. Plenty of whom who've played for West Ham.
Its a ridiculous overreaction to suggest that spitting is the "lowest of the low". That was Lawrenson's line. Don't remember him using the same terms when Roy Keane purposefully assaulted another player and ended his career.
Though I'd agree he's not the player he was.

In partial agreement with this... there are worse things than spitting... and they aren't hard to identify...Lord Kangana wrote:Pantomime villain. There are plenty of footballers who've done far worse. Plenty of whom who've played for West Ham.

Who is morally lower between being El Hadj Diouf and being a Tory has only one answer...

That's 1/3rd of the British population. Something like 45% of the English population.
Maybe late night posting for you isn't wise.

An unrepentant fascist is a club legend there and they're moaning about Diouf.

I don't see him spitting in any of those, so he's a diamond geezer for me.

You're absolutely right, Vicar, it was 'only' 40% at the 2010 General Erection.thebish wrote:eh?? 45% of the English population are tories?? how on earth do you work that out??
Mea Culpa.

do you mean - 40% of those voting?? (that would not equate to 45% of the English population.)
I think turnout was about 65% in 2010
so - 40% of 65% - that would be about 26% surely?

However, Yes, 40% of those who voted. Everyone has the right to vote, age, jail & sanity notwithstanding, so any extrapolation taken from that is rational. It's not totally unreasonable to see that the ones who didn't can be divied-up on the same basis as those who did. It's not like the non-voters don't have an opinion.
So, yes .... 40% of England are Tories according to a pretty sizable poll taken only a year ago.
Just coz you're in denial !!

As ever, that's it from me on the subject. Again, I regret venturing into the World of politics.

Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
Voting for them at the General Election doesn't make you a 'Tory' either. There were plenty (not me, was already a safe Labour seat so I got to enjoy myself wasting my vote) who voted Labour to try to stop the Tories, but weren't 'Labour' people, and plenty who voted Conservative to stop Labour, who weren't 'Tory'. I reckon WtW would probably forgive folk who one-time voted for that lot, in comparison to his Senegalese pal anyway. Now, those who buy into the ideology.....
Anyway West Ham fans have quite happily had Di Canio and Bowyer there, football fans taking moral high ground on footballers is very odd. One word in mitigation for El-Hadji, having briefly met him a few times, and from the accounts of others, I wouldn't be surprised if he genuinely has a screw loose somewhere.

Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
I disagree entirely. I don't see how it is in the least bit rational to label someone who did not vote with a political affiliation. MUCH more rational to label them with NO political affiliation, surely?bobo the clown wrote:Politics thread, my friend.thebish wrote:bobo the clown wrote:You're absolutely right, Vicar, it was 'only' 40% at the 2010 General Erection.thebish wrote:eh?? 45% of the English population are tories?? how on earth do you work that out??

if someone does not vote Tory - on what basis can you call them a tory??
Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
I didn't vote but if I had I would vote Conservative
Guess that makes me a Tory
