Celtic fans are delusional. Hilarious. Fact is I'm struggling to think of any of their players that could do a job for us. Hell, if Weiss and Diouf and walk into a title winning side then it says it all really.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
according to Clubcall...
Bolton are waiting for Jussi Jaaskelainen to pen a new deal before they sell Ali Al-Habsi to Aston Villa or Wigan.
Wigan are thought to have failed with at least one bid for the Oman international who impressed while on loan at the DW Stadium last season, but agreeing a fee is not the only problem.
Trotters boss Owen Coyle would sanction Al-Habsi's move to Wigan if Jaaskelainen, who only has one year left to run on his Reebok contract, pens an extension.
Coyle fears he could be just left with Adam Bogdan as his number one keeper this time next year if Al-Habsi joins Wigan and Jaaskelainen then decides to leave on a free transfer.
It is thought that Jaaskelainen is happy to sign but Wanderers will not let Al-Habsi leave until he has done so. Aston Villa also remain interested in the 29-year-old and could pip Wigan to his signature.

Sounds sensible enough to me.

hmmm...
looks like we let the cat out of the bag! some assumed we were holding out for £5mill - whereas it seems we'll accept whatever wiggin offer as soon as jussi signs... if wiggin read this they won't keep upping their offer....

Obviously no fears from Coyle that Jussi's on the down-slope then.
If only the Finn knew how to sign a contract. Surely he's had enough practice by now.

Think it's reasonable myself. If he's looking to sell Al Habsi, then we need a first choice and a good back up. If we're left only with Bogdan in two years time it'd be a bad plan. Bogdan (or someone else...) may well be our no. 1 by then, then we either need Jussi as our bench warmer (I'd put my money on him being offered a coaching role eventually) or to make a fee on him if he decides to leave for first team football.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
If Jussi is stalling on a contract, keep Al Habsi...it seems fairly logical to me.
I really don't know why we're even considering letting Al Habsi go, let alone to a club in the same league. Neither he nor Bogdan can be on huge wages, surely?

£35k ish p/w apparently.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Any idea what kind of wages Jussi's on? Can imagine they're pretty high.Lord Kangana wrote:£35k ish p/w apparently.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
£35k for a top keeper that we've used and abused, dropping him the second Jussi is fit, then loaning him out...I'd say it was fair.
I really hope we keep him, I think selling him will be a huge mistake.

It's evidently a very complicated contract, given the length of time it takes him (or rather Peter F**king Harrison) to read it.LiOC wrote:Any idea what kind of wages Jussi's on? Can imagine they're pretty high.Lord Kangana wrote:£35k ish p/w apparently.
One more new deal and we might have to start calling Jussi "FDR".

I'd be amazed if Jussi isn't the top earner at the club.
I have no idea what that is though.

Gotta be (complete speculation here) upwards of 55/60 grand a week?

Wasn't Elmander reportedly on 50k p/w? Hoping thats the top end of what we're paying.Lord Kangana wrote:I'd be amazed if Jussi isn't the top earner at the club.

Jussi'll be on a lot for long service, 13 years at a club would probably suggest he'd on the upward end of it too.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
I'd always heard our top earners were on a payscale between 38-45k p/w. With Davies, Jussi and Elmander at the top end of that and Taylor, Cahill and Petrov nearer the lower end.

Looks like Liverpool have paid to clear United's deadwood.
Sunderland have bid for three United players- believed to be Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Darron Gibson.
We've been linked with all of them in the past, so thank feck for Steve Bruce.

Wigan were reportedly paying Al-Habsi £35k per week.. That doesn't mean we do!

They are probably thinking worth every penny of that now. I'm just saying that I hope we keep AAH, and that Peter Harrison is up to his usual tricks again, mind you he's AAH's agent as wellboltonboris wrote:Wigan were reportedly paying Al-Habsi £35k per week.. That doesn't mean we do!
