I don't think Eboue or Bendtner are shite (not sure about denilson) - they would both instantly improve our current first team.
That's interesting, as I think both are f ucking rubbish.

Eboue was better as an attacking right-back. Right mid, he's not as good as Lee. Bendtner is a good player, just not as good as he thinks he is, and you would have to doubt how many goals he'd score in a less commanding team (plus he'd demand a wage more in keeping with his self-image than our self-restraint). Denilson's not a bad ticker-over in a five-man midfield, but I'd worry about him in our four. Abou Diaby would be much more like it (we'd have to forgive him for the Campo tackle but we've had more hateable players in the shirt).

Bendy is not as good as he thinks he is fo sho' - BUT - he doesn't have to be as good as he thinks he is to improve our current first team!

No way Bendtner's ego would lower itself to coming to Bolton Wanderers. If he accepted he wasn't the best player in the world, then he'd be a good signing, but he'd be a nightmare attitude wise and would think us beneath him anyway.

indeed - I suspect he'd rather peel his cornea with a blunt pin than come to us - but he WOULD improve our current first team...

But we've got an attacking right back......shurely we need one that can do both.......

Bendtner....wow....if he was half as good as he thinks he is then he'd be thrice the player he is.

Hadn't seen this Jerome story but just noticed its been mentioned previously. I actually just spat my sandwich out when I saw the £5m figure!

Surely Bothroyd is a better version of Jerome - how much would he cost?

(Fingers and thumbs) so he's only a sixth as good as he thinks he is, right? By that maths, according to his own self-worth he should have scored not 31 in 109 Arsenal games over the last three seasons (and 12 in 38 Denmark caps) but 186 in 109 games and 72 in 38 caps... fair enough, that probably IS how he sees himself... :D

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has scored highly in 'self-perceived competence' after the Gunners' sport psychologist Jacques Crevoisier revealed that the Dane's mark was off the scale.

Bendtner has made several comments in the media over the years highlighting his belief in himself and many have suggested that his confidence borders on arrogance. However, Arsenal use psychological tests to determine their players' mental abilities in relation to their footballing qualities and the striker is certainly not lacking in one area.

"One of the categories is called 'self perceived competence,' i.e. how good the player himself thinks he is,'' Crevoisier told Swedish magazine Offside. ''On a scale up to 9, Bendtner got 10! We have never seen that before. Pat Rice [Arsenal's assistant manager] was sitting next to me and couldn't stop laughing.

"When Bendtner misses a chance, he is always genuinely convinced that it wasn't his fault. You might say that's a problem, and to a certain degree it can be. But you can also view it as this guy has a remarkable ability to come back after set-backs."

my guess is - and this is just a guess - Bendy would put away more one-on-ones with the keeper than say, errr.., Davo...

if we consider Bendy to be shit - and Jerome - and just about every other striker we are linked with - (apart from Sturridge) - just who are we holding out for?

Yeah, it hit a bobble. Must have been one of the Brace players faults for churning it up

Jerome 180 appearances (37 goals)
Bendtner 196 appearances (58 goals)

Both as shit as one another

Reality check no 149.

The main things in all these transfer equations is "would he fit in at Bolton and can we afford him?" We all know it. We played our best games last season when everybody had a good attitude and was playing for each other. Our top earners are pretty small fry in the main. The Bellamy's, Barton's, SWP's and the rest of the ego merchants just wouldn't fit in here, and their paypackets would kill us. We need solid team players not prima-donnas. The top four (six?) spots are almost bought and paid for before the season even starts; it's the way the game's become. Brass in pocket takes out holes in pockets every time.

Last season was a good indication of who we are and where we are; just three points away from eighth spot. It's where we need to be looking to be again, with cups as a bonus chance if we're staying in the top league. If Holden hadn't got injured, what's the betting somebody wouldn't have been in for him by now, and if any of our young lads turn out stars they'll just get snatched away with promises of more money than we can afford.? "Suit according to cloth" is our only way forward. We're skint and relying on Uncle Eddie's benevolence. The Prem is pretty set out: top six, middle eight and bottom six. If we finish anywhere in the middle lot next season I won't be crying. The one transfer I really hope doesn't happen is OC.

Won't be a very popular view, I admit.

To be fair, Davo doesn't think he's the most prolific goalscorer in the world. I think Bendtner would be a good signing if he didn't come with an ego the size of the moon and he'd actually come to us.

And to be fair, Jerome IS shit.

Paul Robinson (goal keeper) can sympathise with him.
