No thanks, we need a decent defender but Fabregas will go this summer and Wilshere will be even more invaluable next season.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Reports in Spain that we've made an offer to buy Thiago off Barca, 4M with a buyback clause.
Fook me! The guy is tipped to be like the next Xavi, just last week they were saying Wenger might try and get him in any deal for Fabregas but wasn't happy that Barca wanted a buyback clause.
I'd be MORE than happy to give him back, we'll develop him for a few years, enjoy better football, and reap the rewards of the profit.

The rumours were that we tried to sign him on loan in 2010 but Thiago Alcantara's father has been quoted as saying he will be going nowhere.jimbo_bwfc wrote:Reports in Spain that we've made an offer to buy Thiago off Barca, 4M with a buyback clause.

Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Didn't Rodrigo's father also say the same thing about him? I think if Barcelona are willing to do business and it enables them to buy Fibreglass then they will do that As Tesco says 'Every little helps'
Pfffft.

If we did sign Thiago, remind Coyle to take his car keys off of him

Nick Purvis-SkySports and some sort of unofficial but widley respected (47,000 followers) Barcelona dedicated twitter account.
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
That Twitter account (@Barcastuff) credited md which is El Mundo Deportivo I think.
Some quotes today are as you would expect.English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers have made a 4M bid, including a buy-back option, for Barcelona B midfielder Thiago (20). [md]
Thiago: "The Euro is another challenge. I don't like to talk about pressure, it's something negative, but we want to win every game."
"I'm at the biggest club in the world, it's wonderful to share a dressing-room with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta... I just watch and listen"
I have a contract for 2 more years. I'm honoured clubs ask for me, but I want to stay and the club has said they count on me" [ser]

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I've just asked my Spanish speaking mate to translate the following:
http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20110607/ ... 43596.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Summary:
Half a dozen elite clubs want him.
Some offers have been loans.
Bolton's offer is so ridiculous that it hasn't even been considered.
Guardiola wants him to be there next season but if they get a good offer they'll think about it, although theyre not expecting such an offer to come in.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Not to be prissy but unless Barça want Cahill, shouldn't all this be in the other transfer thread?

Aye, to be fair when I originally posted it, I thought I had posted it in main transfer thread.
