Nothing borderline about it. It is pure fiction at it's worst.
It's not fiction, but it is basically opinion - a blog which reacts to the news. In this case, the "news" being from Mirror Football - presumably Nixon - maybe this one reported by the Bish five pages and a week ago?

according to the Metro....
The Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis is reported to have held a secret lunch with Trotters chief Phil Gartside in Doncaster last Thursday, where the transfer of Cahill to the Emirates was discussed.

England international Cahill has a release clause of £17million in his contract, but the north Londoners believe they can strike a deal with in-debt Wanderers closer to the £15million mark.

Why the hell should we bend over backwards to release Cahill to the Arse for £15m when bloody Phil Jones can command a fee of £20m. Tell them to F off and keep him. The tight arsed bastards can just do one! C'mon Gartside hold out for the full fee we are not desperate to sell!!!!!!!!
freddie boswell, hugh curran, gary henshaw, ralph wright, ray train, len cantello, tadeusz nowak....those were the days!!

The meeting was in Darlington not Doncaster, but the Metro is free, so I suppose it's close enough!

The 15M seems like a token line thrown in because it's linked to our "debts" which is a ridiculous thing to suddenly say- not least because his fee alone would wipe out our bank debts and not go close to touching our 'Davies Debt'. If anything, with the debt we'd be looking for that 2M more rather than saying, oh well we're in debt so here have a few million off.

His fee will be dictated by how much City/Arsenal want him, if only one of them wanted him I'd snap their arm off for 15M because otherwise we'd be losing him for about 5-6M in January or free in the summer. They both seem interested therefore we're getting as much as 17M.

Don't particularly care whether it's City or Arsenal, I just want him moved on so we can move on with our summer and start bringing in some players of our own- same with Al Habsi.

The best thing about Cahill is this, from his Wiki page, which is definitely true.
Cahill became a patron of the Moses Gate Country Park after having saved a dog from being trapped in a car boot just off Whitecroft Road, Bolton

Correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt Cahill have 12 months left on his contract? and isnt there a release clause of 17 million for him? Im actually warming to the idea of Cahill and Vermaelen as partnership. With Koscielny and Djourou as backup. i rather have Cahill than Samba, despite not being as dominant in the air, Cahill is quicker and more mobile and would suit us much better

So someone not mentioned had a 'secret lunch' in a public place that somebody else saw. Surely that is just LUNCH?

according to Click Lancashire..
According to reports Manchester City are in danger of missing out on Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.

The Bolton News claims City have slipped from odds-on favourites two weeks ago to third place in the race to land the England international

It now seems that Arsenal and Liverpool are willing to Wanderers’ £17 million asking price.

City boss Roberto Mancini is keen to move more players on before bringing others in, which has delayed any push for Cahill so handing the initiative to Arsenal and Liverpool who are both keen to sign Cahill after recently missing out on Blackburn Rovers youngster Phil Jones.

since when were Liverpool involved??

I couldn't give a flying fat one where he ends up, just want him to go so we can get on with our spending.

Cant imagine him being interested in Liverpool. He wants to play champions league football and this season Liverpool have as many European games as we do. Liverpool might offer the money but cahill has still got to want to go there.

We need to hurry Cahill up off to wherever he is going. As LL says this is holding everything else up. Ship him out and move on. We can't afford to keep him with just a year of his contract anyways. If Al Habsi does go then that will help too!

I think he will leave properly end of August for 10-12 million and Bolton wont find a replacement in time
