The thread here is, largely, irony too. The problem with irony is that the victim has to 'get it'. If "time after time, after time" people don't 'get it' then, really, it should stop or be refined, as it's not really working is it ?
We know we are 'just' little old Bolton and we know, really, where we stand. But we do feel aggrieved at the the media wank-fest over your guys. Try, now & then, to read it from an outsider viewpoint & you may begin to see how others view it, the writers and your club.
Anyway, cheer up ... at least you didn't get Megson or Benitez managing you !
Well this is the thing, people will keep aggravating other people with material that they know works, in this case, the "we won the world cup". Works every time. If everyone laughed it off, you would probably no longer see it used. It's akin to a bully getting bored when the victim no longer reacts to the name calling.
The media wank fest is largely due to a huge presence of west ham fans In the media. We dominate headlines thanks to the the pure fcuking amateur drama that the club continues to play out and will do so for years to come. Dint get me wrong I do appreciate how annoying it must be to see west ham in the papers all the time. Don't forget how embarrassing it is for us fans. If it ain't signing dodgy argue world cup stars, it's having a tear up at an end of season dinner. We are the gift that keeps on giving, and if we didn't, you lot would be forced to seek your "amusement" elsewhere.
We as fans are a fiercely proud and loyal bunch. Constantly turning up in our big numbers, year in year out. I would suggest that a lot of fanbases would have given up by now!
never really had a problem with west ham until you fvcked sheffield utd over you should of gone down then
but it's all abit of banter
ANYWAYS
IMO with the fat fvck at the helm you will be promoted nxt season and once again you will get your chance to turn us over (that's if we don't get relagated "ahem")
IF we come back up, I am only worried about beating Tottenham, no one else
nothing too do with you having 2 illegal players then?
No, not really. If they beat Wigan last game, they stay up. They thought that Man Utd would beat us last game of the season and got punished. They went down because they bottled it. Now they are rotting in League 1

whereas instead, ManU let you beat them so they could have Tevez....

I think we ought to appoint Martin Samuel as the adjudicator on this matter.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

you should of got points deducted an illegal player kept you up a player who should't of been playing that was the difference
if that was us we would of got fvcked and quite right

Actually I will be following West Ham's results with a bit of interest next season given the "ex Bolton" links which is more than I can say for Sheffield fookin' Wednesday (unless they get relegated
).

We got fined £25m+ you wally, which I think you'll find is a VERY harsh punishment and a very comparable punishment to being relegated.
If that was Bolton you would have got fvcked? Really? Why is that then? Why would West Ham be treated any more favourably than Bolton?

The 2002/3 Jay-Jay Okocha was roughly a billion times better than Scott Parker. And, he kept his team upCor-Blimey wrote:Again, good bait.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Upson is f ucking shit. He has been dominated by the poorest Kevin Davies in living memory, it's embarrassing for everyone.
As for Parker, well he's massively overrated, so well done on getting anything over 50p for him.
Hard luck with Nolan too, £16m over four years!
Whilst I full back the comments regarding Upson, I absolutely cannot agree re Parker. Parker is a great player and what he has done at West Ham in the last 3 years in incredible. There (was) no greater example of a one man team in the Premiership. Simple as that. I strongly disagree that he is overrated. Not a world beater, but very very good.
Unless you are fishing for the preverbial bite, it's similar to Kevin Davies. It's astounding how few people outside of Bolton give him the credit he deserves as a footballer.

Seriously, Upson is gash, Parker is very good, but not as good as the media would have it, though this is Spurs buying, you need to stick a nought on the end of £4m. For anyone sensible £8m or so would be Ok. Robert Green.....(see Upson)

I am referring to the last few seasons. Anyhow, Parker kept us up 2 seasons prior and that in itself top-trumps the 1 of the clearly superb Jay Jay.
Matty Upson. So sh1t, they named him once.
Green is a good goalkeeper hung out to dry by his mistake against USA. Green should have been given his England chance 3 years ago when he was in form, he was NOT in form last year and should NOT have played v USA.

I've never seen any evidence, for club nor country, that Green is anything other than a disaster waiting to happen.

we love him! he threw it into the net at least once for us - and has gifted us a few with some spectacularly awesome blunders!

Surprised he hasn't been hung out to dry by his umpteen mistakes against Bolton.Cor-Blimey wrote:Prufrock wrote:The 2002/3 Jay-Jay Okocha was roughly a billion times better than Scott Parker. This is similar to the very lazy opinion of football fans who buy into the fact that Bolton are a "long ball" team, which you are all very quick to (rightly) dismiss.Lofthouse Lower wrote:I've never seen any evidence, for club nor country, that Green is anything other than a disaster waiting to happen.
He's a good Premiership standard goalkeeper, no more, no less.

Same here but only because I hope they go down againHoboh wrote:Actually I will be following West Ham's results with a bit of interest next season given the "ex Bolton" links which is more than I can say for Sheffield fookin' Wednesday (unless they get relegated).

As for the bit posted about "all of this coupled with the ludicrous pretensions about the "academy of football" and the "we won the workd cup" and the "we're too good to go down" (the last one, admittedly, not heard as often nowadays!) - these things make you all sound faintly ludicrous to the rest of us..."
That's why many fans don't like West Ham and I have met WHU fans who believe the world cup nonsense and on a personal note when living in Kent had to put up with some very vile WHU fans constantly
My dog (proper 57) had his anal glands emptied once and yes the smell is something to behold!!
Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
to be frank - we wouldn't pay him much attention unless he was playing against us - but - (maybe we are just his bogey team) - he has made some spectacularly generous blunders against us!Cor-Blimey wrote:This is similar to the very lazy opinion of football fans who buy into the fact that Bolton are a "long ball" team, which you are all very quick to (rightly) dismiss.Lofthouse Lower wrote:I've never seen any evidence, for club nor country, that Green is anything other than a disaster waiting to happen.
