What are you watching tonight?

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just watched the two episodes of Our War Ive had recorded, I thought it was brilliant. A lot of the documentaries following troops around in Afghanistan end up being fairly boring I find, where much is promised in the adverts that come before them but in the end very little actually happens. Our War is different though, and it pulls no punches - seeing the young lads trying to get their badly wounded mate out of an ambush zone but not being fully aware of how to use the field stretcher they had so he kept falling to the floor was pretty harrowing.
Last episode coming up on Tuesday I think, looking forward to it

Went into Asda today to pick up some shizzle for the old man for Pop's day and started mooching through the DVD's. Anyway, on the back of me having watched Goodfellas for the first ever time last night (absolutely superb film, 4&1/2 stars out of five for me) I came over all, T-W Legend, 2399-ish and bought Ronin for £3.00. I've seen it before but I was chonged at the time, and it must be good for me to remember it as being good, in fact it must be good for me to even remember that I watched it at all whilst chonged. I also picked up something called Righteous Kill, which, I've never heard of but I'm working on the theory that De Niro mustn't have ever made a poor film in his entire career until he decided to get involved with this Fockers unfunny bollocks.
As a bonus I've also picked up a Gerry Rafferty complilation CD for, you guessed it, £3.00, which I'm playing right now and is superb.
Oh, as for Pops, tomorrow he'll be receiving a big rascal Dairy Milk and a bottle of brandy.

May the bridges I burn light your way

I'm a bit late, I know, but if you watch it thinking it's gonna be like Shaun of the Dead and/or Hot Fuzz, you'll probably be disappointed. It's not exactly laugh-a-minute, and there are some references you'll only get if you're a geek at heart. Still a top film though.Annoyed Grunt wrote:May be watching Paul, not too sure yet. Thought Shaun of the Dead was brilliant, but didn't really warm to Hot Fuzz.

Saw '127 Hours' the other night and was impressed. Couldn't see how some-guy-getting-trapped-by-a-rock storyline could be kept entertaining for 90 mins.

Watched 'Knowing', 'starring' Nicolas Cage.
Started out promisingly with disasters and plane crashes and stuff, and then descended into alien-invasion and world-ending apocalyptic madness

Well I liked it and thought it was as good as Shaun of the Dead and really liked the daft movie references....does that make me a geek (whatever one of those is)truewhite15 wrote:I'm a bit late, I know, but if you watch it thinking it's gonna be like Shaun of the Dead and/or Hot Fuzz, you'll probably be disappointed.
