Would he really add to the squad? When Ricketts comes back he'll be our third choice right-back. It'd add to the squad about as much as signing a new left-winger or a new goalkeeper would.

If it was someone like Spector, I'd agree with you. I don't think he's very good, but I could see the logic in bringing him in on the cheap to cover a few places. Williams would be another like him, although for all I know he is very good.
Ricketts may well also be our only "centre half cover" as it stands if Cahill leaves.

And Steinsson was pretty poor towards the end of last season and we could have done with an option to challenge for that place.
May well be, but he won't. Robbie Blake may well be our third choice striker come the start of the season, but he won't. If Cahill goes, another centre half will come in.

And Ricketts has never 'shat on' Steinsson. If he tried he'd probably miss and put it in his own net. They are both no better than one another, they just both happen to be better than Tyrone Mears.

The odd thing with Ricketts is that when he's in the team everyone thinks he's shit, then when he's out of it peoples opinions of his ability seem to increase. By the time his injury has healed he'll be hailed as the new Cafu.

I diagnosed Dzemaili Effect rather than Andranik Syndrome due to the presence of a serious injury :)

Yeah, a new signing who plays a few games and then is out for weeks injured. Belting.

He can't be relied upon, as decent as he might possibly one day be

Zing! But yeah, hard to get too excited when you realise he's made of glass.

This is classic 'news with absolutely no-news in it that still somehow makes you go hmmm'

Have you read any of his other tweets? It's like a foreign language.

I wouldn't trust that muppet if he told me that the sky was blue.

Oh and the content of his tweet was 'my boss rang me up', effectively.

To be fair, I did say it was pretty much no-news.

I admire your ability to argue with anyone over the internet though.

Do you think we'll have actually signed someone as this thread hits 100 pages ???

No ???

Neither do I !!

If this guy really does work for the club he should keep anything like that quiet.
