Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Given how weak our squad is at the minute, it was one of the smallest last year and we're already down on that now, I'm not sure of the wisdom of selling more players, other than Cahill until we actually bring some fookers in.jimbo_bwfc wrote:From Bolton's point of view, we HAVE to sell one of Taylor/Petrov this year. Both high earners, both 1 year left on contract, neither very good. If the offer is there for Taylor rather than Petrov, sell sell sell!
Perhaps I'm just old fashioned in feeling 1 player for each position isn't enough!

The font of all knowledge 'caughtoffside' running a stroy about Newcastle linked with Sturridge. It's full of 'mights' and 'mays' and 'coulds' so i wont bother posting the full thing. Suffice it to say that if Chelsea buy more strikers to send him down the pecking order, he'll be in demand anyway so there'll be tons more where that came from.
Even though he's already signed for us, obviously

100% agreejimbo_bwfc wrote:From Bolton's point of view, we HAVE to sell one of Taylor/Petrov this year. Both high earners, both 1 year left on contract, neither very good. If the offer is there for Taylor rather than Petrov, sell sell sell!
Taylor offers so little (Petrov too), but of the two I know who I'd rather sell.
That said, a midfield minus Parker but including Nolan and Taylor is going to need to do a lot of running
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Parker was linked with moves around the 4 mil mark wasn't he? so give them Taylor and a couple of mil and jobs a good en

I don't think this is top of our "need to do" list.BWFC_Insane wrote:Given how weak our squad is at the minute, it was one of the smallest last year and we're already down on that now, I'm not sure of the wisdom of selling more players, other than Cahill until we actually bring some fookers in.jimbo_bwfc wrote:From Bolton's point of view, we HAVE to sell one of Taylor/Petrov this year. If there was an offer for either, I'd seriously consider it.
The notion that Petrov is streets ahead of Taylor is complete shite. Petrov was generally wank but has skill. Taylor generally worked a lot harder, didn't put the defence in half as much shite as Petrov does, but doesn't have half his skill. I'd rather have someone with less skill and way more commitment, thanks.
Now I shall list all the left wingers we've had in the Prem that have been streets ahead of either of them.
That is all.

Harsh to leave Pierre Yves Andre from your list

Yes - Wilhelmsson was a wrench to leave out too.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Harsh to leave Pierre Yves Andre from your list

I'd still play Gardner there ahead of both of them.

Sell them both and buy someone with Ward/Gardner as backup

Trouble with selling before buying is reminiscent of the old saying; if you throw the baby out with the bathwater, there's a real danger of a wet floor and a critically injured baby.
Therefore I have faith that he wouldn't be sacking off deadwood like Taylor and Knight (hopefully) without replacements already being signed and sealed, innit.

You know though in your heart of hearts, that it won't be the case.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Trouble with selling before buying is reminiscent of the old saying; if you throw the baby out with the bathwater, there's a real danger of a wet floor and a critically injured baby.

We are still BWFC after all.

We are still BWFC after all.

So LL doesn't think any of our defence are any good. Our LM needs changing, Muabma is crap, Elmander has gone anyhow.
We have left, possibly Jussi (or Al Habs), Holden (who gets injured quite a lot), CYL and a 34 year old striker who doesn't score many.
Can't wait to see all these replacements. Anyone mentioned to OC that he needs to be a bit busier than he was planning?
