Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Regardless then, Cahill will remain a Bolton player. Plus if we were that 'desperate' for money then the very first bid that came along and Cahill would be gone. There would be no reason to insert a release clauseAbs wrote:is bolton any difference from wigan, sunderland or blackburn who all sold players like valencia, jones and henderson for more than 15 million? As the saying goes a player is worth what someone is willing to pay for him.....and so far no one is willing to pay that for Cahill. Also all the top teams have scouted Cahill many times and they seem to not rush to make a move exactly. And lets not kid ourselves, we all know Bolton is desperate for money and we know about their debt.truewhite15 wrote:Young and English adds just £5M? So Phil Jones is worth £10M, is he? Jordan Henderson worth £15M? I think not. The reason we're being stiffed for price is cos we're Bolton Wanderers, so we can't possibly have any players worth any value. If Cahill played for any fooker else, they'd be getting £20M, easy.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:How the fook is it a steal, when all the other aforementioned players were snapped up quickly for their respective 'inflated' prices, leaving us to slowly and desperately prostitute our 17mm 'steal' to anyone who's got a bit of cash?
'A defender who can happily play with the ball at his feet.' - so can Zat Knight
'Young, English' - this adds £5m...doesnt mean people will pay it if they think a cheaper alternative is available.
*edit: hence why City are probably now thinking that their 10m rated Onouha is a better option to bring through.
I'd be perfectly happy to keep him. Get him another season under Coyle, maybe he'll want to stay longer, you never know. But I'd rather lose him for nowt (that way we know the player wants to leave) rather than him leave for summat daft like £10M. At least that way, I don't feel we've been done over.
The debt you refer to as my esteemed and learned friend above has stated is to the owner, one Mr. Edwin Davies. A lifelong Bolton fan, Mr. Davies owes 95% of the club and the debt belongs to him not a bank.
There are other bigger clubs in the same situation and they are in no hurry to sell their big players.

We're quite happy to wait for a top team with some money thanks - which rules Arsenal out as they've won feck all for a lifetime.Abs wrote:is bolton any difference from wigan, sunderland or blackburn who all sold players like valencia, jones and henderson for more than 15 million? american mccann = stuart holden .ohjimmyjimmy wrote:
coz of his hair, and its a slightly jokey comparision of the two players..
however , take away too much "star quality" from the team and it'll struggle a bit. so because holden is knacked, keep cahill to compensate.

I suppose when you're due about 35M for two of the best midfielders in the country- Fabregas(35M) and Nasri(free) I can understand why you're loath to pay half that for Gary Cahill.

Cesc seemed pretty unmotivated last season. One more season of those kind of performances and you might get less than 20m for him.Abs wrote:Nasrijimbo_bwfc wrote:I suppose when you're due about 35M for two of the best midfielders in the country- Fabregas(35M) and Nasri(free) I can understand why you're loath to pay half that for Gary Cahill.3 good months in 3 seasons dont make you great....easily rep[laceable. And he will stay, just want more money the greedy cvnt. Cesc is the man though and he will stay one more season.

Why do all Arsenals' players want to leave? Selling club.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
No Cesc was injury prone last season and started less than 30 games for us. He still got 9 goals and 14 assists, and was the player who created most chances per miniute in the PL last season

No he didn't, that was Nani and Drogba. Fabregas got thirdAbs wrote:No Cesc was injury prone last season and started less than 30 games for us. He still got 9 goals and 14 assists, and was the player who created most chances per miniute in the PL last season
