sorry - it can all be dismissed...

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Few (dum dum duuuum) tweets from the bloke behind that article at the London Standard:
"Possible Cahill could end up being player plus cash. Deal still being discussed but all parties expect a move soon."
"Not in the habit of tweeting any old rubbish, I assure you. Talks can always break down but highly likely in both cases."
"Could end up being player + cash. Coyle would prefer it that way and I agree - £17m looks steep too but right sort of player."
"Ha! Gervinho virtually done, Cahill less so - that one is more complicated but Arsenal confident."

Fabregas plus £10m
He'd have to fight Muamba and Pratley for a place alongside Stuey, though

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
So let me sum up. Some journalist on twitter is saying Cahill might go to Arsenal or he might not. Could be for straight cash or a player swap. Hmmm wish I did this journalism malarky! I could have written that from the various reports there have been around.
Gary Cahill could be set to join Arsenal if Wenger makes a bid if Bolton accept it and the player agrees terms and passes a medical it could happen. Not saying it's certain but if all those things happen it will quite literally happen!

Indeed - as the main story on the BBC website for most of the day put it:BWFC_Insane wrote:Hmmm wish I did this journalism malarky! I could have written that from the various reports there have been around.
Yep, that's how it works folks!Arsenal prepared to sell Fabregas to Barca if the two clubs can agree a price for the midfielder, BBC Sport learns

Seriously though, while the Standard isn't the paper it once was, he must be reasonably confident to fill a page with that. Either that or, more cynically, Arsenal have lent on him/them to make out like they're a buying club, considering they're selling Fabregas and Nasri...
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
is it time to appear on an Arse forum, repeatedly come out with the line that Fabregas will go for next to nowt as he only has 1 year left on his contract
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
And why would Coyle prefer a player+cash deal
Sto ut Serviam

And of course we'll just pay what "everyone" demands, like we have no say in what happens? Wake up fella. We've not spent eleven successive seasons in this league from being mugs.Abs wrote:because everyone knows you have alot of money and just sold a CB and need a new one......everyone will demand crazy money from youCAPSLOCK wrote:And why would Coyle prefer a player+cash deal
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
its not about being mugs. if you suddenly get +15 million for Cahill and the next team you know on the door of will try to squeeze little more out of you as they know you just got a big payment. Happened to liverpool with Caroll.....just common senseTANGODANCER wrote:And of course we'll just pay what "everyone" demands, like we have no say in what happens? Wake up fella. Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Why wouldn't he? Been widely reported that is his preferred deal. Abs may look a bit silly though if reports that Arsenal have agreed to pay 17m for Cahill are true!CAPSLOCK wrote:And why would Coyle prefer a player+cash deal

I think I know my stingy board well enough to say that will never happenBWFC_Insane wrote:Why wouldn't he? Been widely reported that is his preferred deal.
