Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
A full back who can also defend would be just peachy.

To be fair Robbo can defend. Its just he has no pace to get up and down the line!Lofthouse Lower wrote:Blimey, been a long time since we had one of those

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Eboue is very versatile but a complete nut job and liability, he makes Lehmann look calm. Supposedly a great influence in the dressing room but not quite got the quality needed to hold down a regular place at Arsenal, will always be a sub for us i would guess.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:There's a recession on; we've got a thin squad; others have huge squads; squad lists are capped at 25.Lord Kangana wrote:Why the f*ck is everyone obsessed with swapping us players?
Whether We Of The High Standards like it or not, all those players make sense in their way.Gooner Girl wrote:Lansburys a midfielder, played for the England U21's. Traore and Vela both show good promise, i'd be reluctant to part with them. You can have Eboue though
I've been half-expecting us to be lent Lansbury as a "new Wilshere", not that he's at that level (sadly).
We know Coyle liked Vela in January (though we're glad it didn't work as we got Sturridge instead), and it wouldn't surprise or particularly dismay me if he was part of the swap.
Traore and Eboue are attacking full-backs (who can play wide midfield), which also ticks a few Coyle boxes.
Sturridge worked out well for you but taking Vela on loan next season would be a good move for Bolton, he really is a talent. I rate him higher then Bendtner (Am half surprised Bendtner hasn't been linked with Bolton...)
Traore could be available as we do have Gibbs if Clichy goes so i guess thats why he has been mooted.
As for Lansbury, he might be worth a punt loan wise as well. Bolton took Wilshere on in huge steps (something us gooners should be grateful to you for) i'd be more then happy if we leant you a few more of our young stars, prefer that to them being part of a Cahill deal tbh.

Talent

Talent

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
bendtner is talented...he's an arrogant cvnt, but he has scored some absolute screamers. problem is he's a backup to van persie which makes him look even worse as van persie is world class playerLofthouse Lower wrote:Bendtner.

Is he Harry Kewell level?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

That Spurs deal is so beyond unlikely it's not even worth talking about.
I'd be happy to see Lansbury or Vela here, provided it's not too big a chunk from our £17mil.

Ok we all know its not happening, BUT as a hypothetical situation and forgetting about wages, which of the 4 Spurs players rumoured to be offered would you take?
For me Bassong and Hutton would be no brainers, definitely improve us and realistically couldn't see us signing much better elsewhere.
Jenas, not for me.
Keane as it stands would be better than Robbie Blake but would not be worth it if we could bring in better.

Hypothetically it would be Bassong, Hutton, Bentley and Keane.BWFC_Insane wrote:Ok we all know its not happening, BUT as a hypothetical situation and forgetting about wages, which of the 4 Spurs players rumoured to be offered would you take?

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I'd take them all.
Jenas is superior to M Davies by sheer dint of him being relatively match-fit for more than 60% of a season
Hutton is superior to Steinsson, well, because he exists
Keane....hmmm superior to Elmander, probably
Bassong is superior to Knight, but then again so is my Nan
I'd have rather loaned that Sandro for a year, or been cheeky for Defoe.
No to Bentley though, arrogant c*nt

Gary Cahill is 5/6 to join Arsenal amid rumours of talks with the Bolton defender, while Cesc Fabregas is 1/5 to depart The Emirates for Barcelona this summer. Click here for our Transfer Specials

One from Capslock's best mate Marc Iles: "Cahill latest in the BN tomorrow. One interesting development and a fairly definitive statement."
