Was he not injured too? Looking forward to seeing what he can do.BWFC_Insane wrote:Indeed but he started out as a holding midfield player.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Fair-to-middlingHe had previously made 199 appearances during a five-year stint with Swansea, scoring 31 goals.
Last season he got twelve goals, not bad considering he didn't start for large parts of the season due to his contract issue!

Re: Darren Pratley signs on a four year deal
Why does everyone assume that our signings all go straight into the first team? Or directly replace someone who already plays regularly? And all at the same time?Rodney Trotter wrote:Do we really need Pratley though when we're signing Thiago?

I'd be delighted with 8 midfielders all about the same standard (preferably Holden's standard or better) who could rotate in and out of our midfield and cover for injuries etc.

It doesn't make any sense, though. If we had another Pratley on the books then fine, you go for your life, but we don't, so don't.

it would be terrible if it did... absolutely terrible... I'd never forgive myself!ohjimmyjimmy wrote:oh you know Dratley will stick, you just knowthebish wrote:anyway - in anticipation of a PSG sometime soon...

Now I know why you picked Lofthouse Lower as your name...Lofthouse Lower wrote:Please stop
If we cleverly replace the first letter of Lofthouse with the first letter of Lower, it has only limited comedy effect. Whereas replacing the first letter of Mike with the first letter of Hunt, it's fecking hilarious.
Did I get that right?

I suppose we could just call him Prats?
Why waste the once in a lifetime gift of having a player with prat in his name.

nahh.. only Dratley is worthy to play alongside the greats... Mavis and Savis.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:I suppose we could just call him Prats?

(rumours are we are signing Mlatley to irish-dance his twinkle-toed way through opposition defences...)

Re: Darren Pratley signs on a four year deal
So, in short, do we need any more midfielders this window?
Do we think Coyle is looking to add SWP as wide cover, and Moreno as a striker?

I prefer Dazzers Prattersley.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

No, not when you think of other areas we are lacking in.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:So, in short, do we need any more midfielders this window?Do we think Coyle is looking to add SWP as wide cover, and Moreno as a striker?
I'd say we need 2 strikers whatever happens, and if Cahill goes a centre back.
I think those are absolute essentials.
Above and beyond that would be nice to have another wide right player to provide an alternative to LCY and possibly even a left sided winger more effective than Petrov. Improvements on full backs would also be ideal but again non essential.
Thats how I see it anyways.
Re: Darren Pratley signs on a four year deal
we do seem reasonably well stocked....ohjimmyjimmy wrote:So, in short, do we need any more midfielders this window?

Muamba, Savis, Mavis, Holden, Dratley, Ricardo?, Petrov, Lee, Taylor,
on the striker front we have...
KD, Klasnic, Blake, O'Halloran, Obadeyi, Eaves
