You're such a glass half full man.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Probably, and having Davis, Rickets and Holden back will be like having signed three more. Sorted.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:This thread is a shambles ! Is everyone giddy cos we finally signed a player?

Gardner is the ultimate "like a whole new signing" this year.

My source has confirmed that this is the case, so it is indeed 100% true, we have not made an attempt to sign Lionel Messi. Coyle is attempting to sign other players thoughBWFC_Insane wrote:vvvvvvvITK we are not signing Messi this summer. You heard it here first.

So if he's shit-hot next season, Benfica wont sell him?
Basically then why's it a special loan?

I'm happy with Pratley, and I'll be happy if we re-sign Rodrigo. But we still need a striker or two, probably a centre back or two (unless Connolly's ready to step up) - and hopefully some type of marquee signing, though I'll be just as happy if said marquee signing fits into one of the previous categories...

Is there any mention of Sergio Ramos as right back?TKIZ! wrote:My source has confirmed that this is the case, so it is indeed 100% true, we have not made an attempt to sign Lionel Messi. I bet that will cramp his holiday sun-bathing style...Meanwhile, Middlesbrough have put a “not for sale” sign on defender Rhys Williams.

Judging on that article alone it looks like the 'special' part of it is in relation to the future fee. It sounds as if the fee will rise dependant on the number of appearances or goals he scores, to a maximum 4 million (id also guess the minimum was 2-2.5 mil.)ohjimmyjimmy wrote:So if he's shit-hot next season, Benfica wont sell him?

Again from that article it doesn't seem like Benfica will have too much of a say over selling him when/if we meet the fee determined in the loan deal.

so it's in our interests to have him for a season - and him not really shine (cos we play him in goal?) - then buy him cheap - and then unleash him in 2012/13?

Cheers...any chance you can take Marc fcking Iles' place in writing these articles, so they make sense?wanderers_on_tour wrote:Judging on that article alone it looks like the 'special' part of it is in relation to the future fee. Aye, it seems that (basically) we've signed him permanently, but the fee will be handed over next summer, and the size of it depends on how he does this season.

So we may end up playing him less in order to pay less?
