Maybe Coyle reckons his pace could cause problems in like the last 5 minutes of games in emergency situations.
Or he might want to actually make money on him.

To be fair, he does seem to play well with our reserves, then just shite whenever he goes out on loan. Doesn't particularly bode well. Seems a weird one, but one last chance should be interesting. Worst he can do is the same shite he's done for the majority of his tenure with us. At best, he might be able to get on the bench.

Some pretty crap young players have managed to pull it together and put some decent performances on the pitch for Bolton, maybe he can do the same. Joey O'Brien always struck me as one of our shitter reserves, had a fair run in the side. Basham never looked special and has never looked special since, but did have his little input and brought us a nice fee. Bogdan was awful at Crewe, luckily that seems to have just been a blip.

Joey O Brien stood out in the reserves. Looked a class above. Whenever I've seen Tope he's just looked plain shite!

Ha! I like to think y'all can do it yourself. But while we're here, another irritant... "He still boasts one of the Premier League's smallest squads" - is boasting really the verb? "They boast one of the street's messiest gardens," "She boasts one of the estate's worst reputations," "He boasts one of the world's shortest penises"...

Is that right that Alonso is #3 next season?

He's not in nick then?

So he says on Twitter. I was a bit surprised myself. Seems to imply that Coyle sees him to be a definite part of his plans for the first team. Either that, or it's a vote of support and confidence in him...

Bolton chief takes a flyer on Spanish starlet
Published 23:00 07/07/11 By Alan Nixon

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to clinch a deal for Spanish starlet Rodrigo Moreno – after chairman Phil Gartside flew out for a summit meeting with his club, Benfica.

Coyle has been trying to bring exciting attacker Moreno back to the Reebok, but the Portuguese giants were reluctant to part with the Under-20 international.

However, Gartside travelled to Lisbon to meet Benfica officials face to face and is hopeful that he has now secured the youngster as Coyle’s second signing.

Bolton want to agree terms that would see Moreno come back to them on loan, but with a view to a permanent £3.4 million switch.
I had my doubts about this first time it was reported. But I'd actually him back. Coyle must think he is good enough, he's seen him day in, day out in training after all.

I thought Rodrigo looked good during his brief game time, I'd welcome him back. Another season to take a look at him, and not a massive amount of money at the end of it if we want to keep him.

Agree. Provides cover on the left on the right and up front. Handy player to have. And Coyle must think he potentially has something to add to the first-team. I do too, for what it's worth. When you consider that was his first season in a foreign country AND his first real season in professional football, it was a decent account. With more game time, he certainly has attributes that others in our squad, and our attack certainly, lack.

Kind of surprised by Obadeyi's extension but gives him one more year to show he has something for us.

I'm behind getting Rodrigo back, looked decent in his spell here, wants to come back, has alot of pace and could be a good signing for us imo

Also agree, was very, very good at Stamford Bridge at Christmas. Owned Ashley Cole going forward and defensively. Surprised we didn't see more of him tbh.

Fit, pacey and skillful, which as Jimbo alludes, are three words not always used to describe other players on the books.

Yes this. I went to that match. He was fantastic. Worked his bollocks off and looked a real threat. I'd forgotten about that game. On the basis of that, I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

Not sure mesen. Really not sure. He can do stepovers and that, but cutting edge? Not a jot. He's not shite, but I'd not be risking that kind of money on him.
