Has Coyle got some unrequited boyhood Middlesbrough issues or something?

BOLTON Wanderers are understood to have rekindled their interest in Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams – and the Trotters want Seb Hines too.

Owen Coyle is an admirer of Williams, who played in a number of positions last season during Boro’s successful end to the Championship campaign.

The Trotters boss is reportedly prepared to allow young prospect Mark Connolly to join Boro on a season-long loan in order to seal a deal for the defensive pair.

Coyle first inquired about Williams at the end of the season, but Boro boss Tony Mowbray had indicated that there was no real need to sell players who will form a major part of his starting XI this season.

However, the offer of former Wolves player Connolly – who Bolton signed for £1million 18 months ago – may tempt Mowbray, who is understood to have watched the youngster play for Bolton’s reserve team on a number of occasions, to part with Williams and Hines.

Williams made ten appearances for Boro at the back end of the season after returning from a pelvic injury which ruled him out for 11 months.

Hines, who replaced David Wheater in Boro’s starting line-up after his January move to the Trotters, could be reunited with his former team-mate.
3 or 4 times last season at reserve games I ended up talking to to Boro's first team coach and he was asking about a number of our reserves particularly Connolly, Josh Vella and Adam Blakeman. He was also amazed (in a good way) at the fitness level and energy of Tom Eaves, the guy said that Boro had watched Eaves 18 months ago and thought he would never make a footballer due to his poor condition and lack of effort !!
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to clinch a deal for Spanish starlet Rodrigo Moreno – after chairman Phil Gartside flew out for a summit meeting with his club, Benfica.

Coyle has been trying to bring exciting attacker Moreno back to the Reebok, but the Portuguese giants were reluctant to part with the Under-20 international.

However, Gartside travelled to Lisbon to meet Benfica officials face to face and is hopeful that he has now secured the youngster as Coyle’s second signing.

Bolton want to agree terms that would see Moreno come back to them on loan, but with a view to a permanent £3.4 million switch.
I had my doubts about this first time it was reported. But I'd actually him back. Coyle must think he is good enough, he's seen him day in, day out in training after all.
He continues to play Taylor and he sees him day in and day out so that judgement is shit
Who would you have played left wing last season then Potter? Petrov?

Like it's been said, Rodrigo was one of the best players on the park when I went down to Stamford Bridge around Christmas. He has an enormous amount of talent of potential. He did reasonably well last season considering he's a 19 year STRIKER who was played out of position, first year in England and couldn't speak the language.

That's what I thought at first. But after Christmas, him and the team as a whole improved beyond belief. Was probably a wake-up call being given that break over Christmas and missing out on the opportunity of sitting on the bench at Anfield.

Will Eaves be given a chance this season, Riviman? Is he any good on Football Manager?

Rodrigo....hmm, as part of a wider policy (and on loan) then I have no problem with his signing but, if we're spending £4m on him then I'd be a bit bothered
Weiss is shit.

He had the choice of playing Taylor or Petrov in that position .. Petrov blew hot and cold and refused to defend so he only had Taylor to fall back on for an experienced player in that position when needed.. So therefore you comment is shit. Didn't have much choice at the end of the day.

Not to mention he spent half his playing time chasing balls hit half a field ahead of him just because the rest of the team were whacking it in front of him as he has some pace.

Howd up though lets be realistic in expectations...we always do this with players, build them up into a saviour because we remember one good half or because we make excuses on their behalf. If we get him, he'll still be one to use gradually and to give time to. He musnt represent our main business in the striking area.
