Is he gonna be here next season?

when is his trial etc?

This loosely fits in this topic as the photo is from training in the US!

a propos of nothing other than the reference to schadenfreude... I browsed around for other cool foreign words that we never got round to inventing words for...

hence:

Bakku-shan (Japanese): "A beautiful girl... as long as she's being viewed from behind."

Espirit d'escalier (French): "When you think of the perfect verbal comeback... much too late."

Backpfeifengesicht (German): "A face badly in need of a fist."

It's a good idea, but you aren't having that one. The French have no more invented a word for that idea than we have :D! If we are doing phrases though, 'il y a du monde au balcon' is my fave

Is it at all likely that there might be a stream of tomorrows game? I remember there was one for the game against Toronto FC last season.

chungy's enjoying life!
GiveMeFootball wrote:Chung Yong-Lee is enjoying his first taste of America as part of Bolton's pre-season preparations this summer.

The South Korean international is on his first trip stateside, and unlike the vast majority of professional footballers, is enjoying the rigours of fitness training on return from an elongated summer break.

"I have played football in too many countries to name, but I've never been to America," explained the 22-year-old.

"I'm enjoying it because it is the first time that I've been together with the players since the first day of pre-season training. Two years ago I only joined three days before the first Premier League game and last summer I had two weeks extra because of the World Cup.

"Training has been hard but I'm happy to be here with everyone. Last week I felt like I was at 50 percent fitness, but now I'm at 60 percent. I'm taking it step-by-step."

Signed from FC Seoul, Chung-Yong enjoyed the longest spell without playing full during his career this summer, with three weeks worth of rest time before returning for the Trotters camp with manager Owen Coyle.

Vastly experienced at international level already, the player made two appearances for his country post-season before jetting home to spend some time with his family. Now, he's back and raring to go with his teammates in Florida.

"We had two international games against Serbia and Ghana and a charity match in Korea in June. I play a lot of football," added the winger, who has now earned 40 caps for his country since debuting in 2008.

"I spent the rest of the summer back in Korea with my friends and family. It was good to go home to speak in my own language and eat some South Korean food.

"It was still longer than I've had before, so I'm not complaining. I don't think there has ever been a time when I haven't played a match for five weeks."

Like a whole new signing then?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

:oyea:

All right very interesting two hours observing the training session. Appreciate Bolton opening this session to the public, I think there was about (20) people watching, I was the only dork in a Bolton replica top, I need to get a life! Owen Coyle is a motivator and his energy is contagious, can see he is a real "man manager."

Majority of the players looked beat and sluggish before the training even started. This humidity is taking its toll on them. Anyways Chung Lee, Kevin Davies, and Petrov were the stars of the session. They hustled, were the fittest, and looked like consummate professionals. All three looked a cut above and world class. Davies was always leading by example, first to do every drill and challenging everybody else to put in a shift. In the small sided games he scored some great goals and had some outstanding passes also. This is the kind of player that should be captain for England, not the prima donnas that normally get the arm band. Marcos Alonso had some nice touches but was getting the pi$$ knocked out of him in the small sided games. Seemed like a few were actually gunning for him. No question though that technically he is very talented could be an attitude issue though?

Zat Knight was complaining a lot and Matty Taylor showed some class but I think his fitness from that gland problem is still an issue. He was alawys asking for protein packs and something to drink that "had sugar in it."

Bogdan looked a little shaky but did have a great penalty save on Alonso. Jussi looked as solid as ever. Pratley also looked like he was ready for the season to start and had a great header for a goal, I was surprised how skillful he was and might just get a regular place in the midfield (at least until Holden comes back), defo has an engine on him and timed his runs very well.

Back room staff was probably working the hardest and the team is defo well served by them, credit to the club. Trying to keep cold beveragaes and ice on hand for all was a big task. Vey well organized, fluid session that gave me a lot of ideas for the youth team I coach. I'll post some pictures later.

Thanks for all who got me pointed in the right direction.

You know it is amazing how much more you can get out of going to a training session vice a match. I am not as concerned now WRT depth as I was before. Got to see a few of the fringe players and they looked more capable than I was led to believe by some on this board ...
