Good option if we can't get Sturridge.

I'd prefer to get Macheda

Macheda didn't manage to score in the Italian league in 14 attempts.

Welbeck managed 6 in the Prem and he was injured for quite a bit. He started the season poorly but once he hit his stride he looked good imo.

Welbeck was holding his own, if not outperforming, at least Gyan and Bent too until he got injured.

I don't think Welbeck is a top quality striker and I doubt he will make it at the Theatre of Dreamers. He would be a good signing for us though.

Sturridge is a much better player IMO.

They seemed at a similar level at the U21's tournament. Getting the pair of them would be pretty good.

I agree, I'd happily pay them a million quid, just to keep him there.
Aye, and we'll stick with Davies and Klasnic up front with Blake as the super sub.

From what I understand talks are so advanced that the official website has an image of Daniel Sturridge ready and waiting.

Turning down Keane doesn't necessarily mean we'll stick with what we've got. I fear if it does.

Define most? Has anybody ever said those things?

Anyway, Klasnic has been dismissed a bit unfairly, his problems are his fitness rather than his ability. Still, he's a better player and will score more goals than the current version of Robbie Keane.

As an aside, there's a piece from Coyle in todays BEN talking about how Klasnic has never really been fully fit while he's been here because he's never had a proper pre-season. Like a whole new signing...

Arsenal remain interested in Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill, and will offer wantaway midfielder Denilson in part exchange for the centre back, according to the Metro.

The Brazilian midfielder came on at half time for Arsenal in their 4-0 victory over a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur, but was replaced 20 minutes later with no visible injury trouble.

The ignominy of being a substituted substitute certainly irked Denilson.

He immediately stormed off down the tunnel, which so far appears the only blemish on an otherwise successful Asia tour for Arsenal.

Arsenal have long been linked with Gary Cahill, but are reportedly struggling to match the £17m demanded by Bolton boss Owen Coyle.

It is believed that their offer of Nicklas Bendtner to the Trotters as part of the deal went down like a lead balloon, and so manager Arsene Wenger may attempt to lower the price by sending Denilson to the Reebok Stadium.

About 165k above 100k I suspect.
