In some ways i'm actually glad don't have much money to spend, seeing Blackburn linked with all these top international stars only for them to turn round and say 'I don't want to play for Blackburn' would be like a continuous Miguel Veloso saga. Mirko Vucinic is the latest who plans to break Blackburn hearts.

Good player, be happy for us to sign him but I can't think Nixon is taking a stab in the dark rather than being privy to any information.
Coyle made a comment the other day about not looking at out of contract players.
We've just signed Pratley and already have Muamba- I'd argue NRC is better than both but unless we sell Fab on, it'd be overpacking the midfield.

But I agree, can't see this happening as we already have enough in midfield who will expect to be first team, so it doesn't make sense to be buying MORE

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
We need box to box midfielders if we play a 4-2-4 system. The only box to box midfielders (those who can defend, tackle, have an engine, pass and score goals) we currently have are Holden and Pratley. We need at least 1 more for cover. Muamba, Mavies, Gardner, do not fit that bill. Reo Coker does not score much, but he is more a box to box midfielder than the other 3 and It's a long season.

I don't mind seeing reo in the side, as I remember him covering different positions as well. I thought I saw him played RB before for villians.

I think I'd rather have Reo Coker than Denilson.
Hardly a ringing endorsement when you sub the sub after 20 minutes. "Er, yeah, he's worth £5m Owen..."

I can live with those. As far as not needing in the midfield, last year we ended up starting strikers to fill in the position. M. Davies always seems to get injured, and Holden I suspect will be unlikely to contribute that much until at least January.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Welbeck yes

Welbeck looked great for Sunderland in December of last year. After his return from injury I didn't see any of those games.

Then, given the near abject failure of " TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thread" with only one purchase in almost 160 pages, maybe a new one, called "ohjimmyjimmy's 'Things should start moving in the next week or so Thread' " should be started ??ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Things should start moving in the next week or so.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Agreed - TKIZ is wholly responsible for our current dilemma and inability to score against Tampa. Had we signed Messi and Iniesta, we might have nicked a draw.bobo the clown wrote:Then, given the near abject failure of " TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thread" with only one purchase in almost 160 pages, maybe a new one, called "ohjimmyjimmy's 'Things should start moving in the next week or so Thread' " should be started ??ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Things should start moving in the next week or so.
It's all down to the quality of this thread that we haven't and didn't.

It's a rumours thread not a purchased players thread.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Therein lies the problem then. If only you'd named it "The players about to be definitely bought absolutely definitely" thread, then we'd now have a full squad in place and a tilt at the Champions League on the cards.
As it is, we've got BWFCi on suicide watch. All your fault. I hope you're suitably ashamed.
