Hang on...BWFC_Insane wrote:We could win every pre-season game 5-0. Won't mean a thing come QPR away!
We lost yesterday, so it's season over and we're finishing bottom.
But even if we win every other pre-friendly 5-0 it's still irrelevant come QPR away.
How come the pre-season defeats are indicative of what we can expect this year but the pre-season victories aren't?

I never said they were. I said the quality of our squad is indicative of what happens next season. You don't need to be particularly bright to know as it stands we're in trouble!CrazyHorse wrote:Hang on...BWFC_Insane wrote:We could win every pre-season game 5-0. Won't mean a thing come QPR away!

Re: Bolton in Florida
I thought it was a very good run out for the squad. As far as pre season goes 100% a success. We created a lot of chances, easily 5-6 that in a weeks time would have found the back of the net. I also thought we put in a good effort. Need to remember the team have been getting worked hard in training and this humidity is no joke, we were melting after 10 minutes. Lee, Petrov, Gardener, Blake and Cahill all gave a good account of themselves. Robbo and Knight on the left made me very nervous, they did not seem to have a good understanding. FC Tampa Bay didn't really do much, just tok their chance where as we wasted 5-6, the Tampa goalies did ok but we made them look good by firing at them from point blank.
Saw quite a few Bolton fans in the crowd, felt bad for one little lad in a family of five all kitted out in brand new replica Bolton shirts. He was heart broken and very embarrassed by the loss, in tears.
Great week though for us Florida Wanderers, got to see all the first team available in action and an open training session to boot.

As it stands we're one game into a pre-season with a squad that will look different by the time QPR tonk us. Our fitness levels are low and the boys were hung over and jet-lagged.
It'll be reet.

And I agree that the squad will look different by QPR. My point being IF it doesn't then we're in trouble!

BWFCi in negativity shocker.
I doubt if any of the local fans saw Bolton as potential relegation fodder. Do you really think any of our lot are going to risk injury by going all out in a steambath warm-up friendly? Do you evn see any of this as critical to how we fare in the Prem this season? Coyle wants to see players in action but he sure doesn't want to start off with groin strain, hamstrings and broken bones in a meaningless excersise session. You have absolutely no idea who he'll bring in or play against QPR or indeed how we'll play. You worry me greatly at times and talking of relegation before the season even starts is pure, unadulterated bollox. Get a grip man. If we'd won 10 nil it would have no bearing whatsoever on our season.

You need to read what I actually said. I couldn't care less about the result. The fact remains that our squad is seriously understrength and in certain key areas lacking significant quality. I don't think even Owen Coyle would argue with you about that.TANGODANCER wrote:BWFCi in negativity shocker.![]()

I'm 100% certain that Coyle will bring players in before the season starts. He absolutely has to. My point was actually that IF we went into the season with this squad we're in huge trouble.
I suspect 95% of Bolton fans would agree with that statement.

Re: Bolton in Florida
If these games mean now't why play them then? Just mix up the squad stay in Chorley and play each other. Next we'll have been doing too much traveling and the poor dears are tired if QPR turn us over

There's no IF about them turning us over. It's inevitable.Hoboh wrote:If these games mean now't why play them then? Just mix up the squad stay in Chorley and play each other. Next we'll have been doing too much traveling and the poor dears are tired if QPR turn us over

I'm not exactly sure what the merit is in getting worried about something that you say you are 100% certain won't happen....BWFC_Insane wrote:
