Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
If true, then its a decent piece of business by OC getting £2.2M for Taylor & paying £3M for Eagles and Mears who are both decent players and probably Burnley's best 2 players.
IMO Eagles is a decent player and seems to have been improving year on year and scores goals - and he's a quick footed, ball playing midfielder i.e. pass & move so its a step in the right direction, for me spending £3M on Eagles alone would have been good business as I think he'll get better in the next year or so with regular prem football.
If (big if ?) Reo Coker & Eagles come in (as well as Pratley) then our midfield is looking strong, with plenty of options and pace - but we still need at least one (probably 2) fast pacy strikers, if we get some pace and movement up front with that midfield we could do quite well next season.

Think we could do a lot worse. Also knows how Mears and Eagles will work within his system making it a much lower and relatively inexpensive risk.

The comments by the Burnley press officer would suggest it is not true, full stop. So, see what happens, but he would be more ITK than anybody else so i would believe him over that small piece in The Mail.

But this week is your week, surely !?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Whilst I agree with OJJ, I wouldn't put it past him to say that. Eagles is one of their best performers

Hey, hey...i said in the Taylor thread that something would come out the blue this weekend, and you all laughed, you all laughed at me! Actually you didnt, in fact nobody paid any attention to itbobo the clown wrote:oh, Jimmy, Jimmy !ohjimmyjimmy wrote:The comments by the Burnley press officer would suggest it is not true, full stop. Point being, right or wrong, i still rock !
Anyway, if that Bentley guy has come out & said that despite it being actually true, then that would make him a complete cnut. Which is possible.

I didn't laugh at you. Even though you mocked for my transfer thread

I think calling it a 'transfer' thread is pushing it a little bit...

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
The only time i will tolerate the word 'swoop' being used for a transfer story is if it involves a player named Eagles. But anyway: Onuoha again?

http://www.eatsleepsport.com/bolton-wan ... 44782.html
Bolton boss Owen Coyle has been tipped to move for Burnley pair Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears and Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha.
The Wanderers boss is desperately seeking new additions after seeing a steady stream of players depart the Reebok since the close of the season.
Matt Taylor's £2.2million move to West Ham has left Coyle with just 15 outfield players and the Scot has been tipped to raid former club Burnley for midfielder Eagles and defender Mears.
Some reports have claimed Bolton have seen a £3million bid accepted by the Clarets but Coyle would not be drawn on his targets, although he admits he wants at least three new faces before the transfer window closes.
He told the Bolton News: "We're still looking to add to our squad and to bring three or four players into the group we've got.
"I don't want to get drawn into it [who we're trying to sign] until I've got the nuts and bolts nailed down with players but there are some good players out there and we are trying to get them to the club.
"You always need to tick a number of boxes for that to come to fruition but we're doing everything in our power to try to bring in quality players to help the squad that we have."
Coyle was linked with Onuoha earlier in the summer as a possible makeweight in a deal involving Gary Cahill heading to Eastlands, but the deal failed to materialise.
However, the 24-year-old has been left out of City's tour of America and has been deemed surplus to requirements by boss Roberto Mancini.
Coyle is believed to be keen to make a move for the City man when the Wanderers return from their pre-season tour of the USA but he could face competition from Sunderland, where Onuoha enjoyed a successful loan stint last season.

Unless there's a player out there called 'Peregrine Falcon' ?
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
oh dear Mr Coyle... you don't nail down nuts and bolts!!!!"I don't want to get drawn into it [who we're trying to sign] until I've got the nuts and bolts nailed down...

Thats cheered me up no end
IF hes after 3 or 4 and these two are two of 'em, well...
Tin hats time
Cos two more have to include a left sided midfielder and a striker
Which would presumably be 'any young left footed Spaniard whose club will sell for 5 million' and a striker to play with Davies
I can't wait

Three or four?
Reo-Coker, Eagles, Mears, Suarez....dat it?
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
It might be the four he wants but I could see him putting in a late loan bid for Studge as Chelsea are trying to agree personal terms with Lukaku. Or even if the worst comes to the worst a try for Bendtnerohjimmyjimmy wrote:Was thinking the same.CAPSLOCK wrote:Thats cheered me up no end

Where does Onuoha fit in then? Cahill's replacement, if he goes?

John Sparrow ? Alvin Marten ?ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Unless there's a player out there called 'Peregrine Falcon' ?
Anyone who plays for Newcastle or Notts County, or Cardiff, Palace, S.Wed & Brighton for that matter.

Or the right back if Cahill stays. Or his partner.jmjhb wrote:Where does Onuoha fit in then? Cahill's replacement, if he goes?
If they're the only 4 that we've signed by the QPR game though, then Coyle's an idiot. Davies is getting on, Klasnic is obviously a great finisher but is lazy, Eaves possibly out for the season and then there's Robbie Blake.
