Mullayo - You are now being dissed by TKIZ. That has to hurt.

Are you sure its not Alexis Sayle?

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The reason this thread is a travesty is none of the trustworthy, respected positive posters have come over from the other thread yet!

I've unwittingly attracted all the glass is half empty posters when I need the Lofthouse Lowers, CAPSLOCKS etc.

Also, I mucked up my dates and may have launched a little early. See we're a day ahead Down Under here in NZ.

So, I can report we have indeed signed Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears as it's just already happened here.
If you want proof - although I don't know why you wouldn't take my word - I've just seen the PSG pic... they're both smiling holding up a super big jersey. One of them looks a bit of a tw@t... the other one looks better than Steinsson...very exciting stuff... be sure to check it out in a few hours time...

Brought to you by THE most successful transfer thread in internet history (since 1996 or so)!

Nice on Mullayo. Could you PM me the winner of today's card at Haydock Park ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

When I was about 9 or 10 I watched a Tomorrow's World programme which showed one of the first fax machines. They received a copy of the front page of an Australian Newspaper 'live' on the programme and I turned to my dad and said ''we should get one of them and then put bets on the english racing results. It'd pay for itself within a week''

For the non-believers out there. I consulted with Sapphire and Steele and they said I could break the time-space continuum this once since it was "for the most successful transfer thread eva!"

Viola! Chris Eagles, pitch, shirt and creepy grin!

I don't think TKIZ knows how to post picture - especially tiny yet impressive ones like that!

I could post the Tyrone Mears one too but trust me it looks very similar to the Eagles one and is even eerily reminiscent of the earlier Pratley PSG so I don't think I'll bother.

Also, I don't want to upload it and risk overloading the internet with massive files that could slow everyone's broad-ish-band to a crawl. Uploading the Eagles pic took three hours and caused mayhem down here, with several power outages etc.

In fact since this thread started, we've probably lost out on two targets !

HERE IS AN OLD ARTICLE FROM YESTERDAY IN NZ SHOULD BE APPEARING ANY MINUTE NOW IN YOUR TIME:

Bolton on verge of Chris Eagles, Tyrone Mears signings

Trevor Baxter

July 25, 2011
Share Article | Submit Comments | Printable Version

Former Manchester United youngster Chris Eagles and ex-Manchester City defender Tyrone Mears are poised to link-up with former boss Owen Coyle.

The duo are expected to complete a £3 million move to the Reebok in the next few days after Burnley gave them permission to speak to their Lancashire rivals.

Eagles, 25, left Old Trafford in 2008 and his exciting wing play made him a firm favourite with the Turf Moor faithful.

Mears, who made just one first team appearance for City, has been with the Clarets since 2009 after a brief spell at Marseille.

Cautious Coyle wouldn’t confirm the deal after his team’s 4-1 victory at Bradford City.

However, it seems, subject to successful medicals, the pair will join Darren Pratley as summer signings.

“I know Burnley have made public a bid has been accepted and they are both very good players who I know well from my time at the club,” said Coyle.

“But they are not signed yet and I must stress that. We still have some negotiating to do,” added Coyle, who thought to have also made a bid for Liverpool’s David N’Gog

Pratley was among the scorers in yesterday’s 4-1 win over Bradford City as was Martin Petrov with a first half penalty.

The 32-year-old Bulgarian had been linked with a shock move to the MLS during the summer.

Instead, it was fellow left sided midfielder Matty Taylor who left the club, joining ex-Trotters chief, Sam Allardyce, at West Ham.

And Petrov is looking to take his current form into the new Premier League campaign.

“The last season was good because I got through it without any major injury problems,” he said as Kevin Davies and Ivan Klasnic also netted against the Bantams.

“And I have started this pre-season without any problems too. That is very important for me because I have had an injury with my knee in the past which has stopped me from playing at my best.

“I know what I have to do in preparation to help my knee and muscles because I’m not the youngest any more.

“I have to be very professional if I want to play that little bit longer. I do lots of stretches and work in the gym because there have also been times in my career when I’ve had stiffness in my back too.

“For me it is important I stay without injury – I know my capacity and that when I am fit I can play good football.”

Two signings potentially lost out on, in two pages. Thats a 100% failure rate, thats a target-loss per page ratio :D

This thread is much better than the other one.

On TKIZ's thread we're possibly being lumbered with two almost off-contract Burnley also-rans.

This thread has Coyle swooping for Eagles, a former Manchester United eaglet and courting Tyrone Mears, an international superstar for Marseille and big spending super club Manchester City! Much more exciting... :oyea:

Effen Jeffren can eff off according to Coyle:

He told the Bolton News: "I don't wait and see with anyone. Either you want to play for this football club, or you don't.

"I have not talked to Jeffren or his representatives, so the story makes it out that it's a bit further down the line than it is, but if it isn't going to happen, then we'll move on."

Jeffren has also been linked with Atletico Madrid and Valencia and the striker is now expected to remain in La Liga.

Coyle has been tipped to reignite his interest in Liverpool forward David Ngog after admitting defeat in the battle for Jeffren's signature.
