-Sign Pratley for free
-Sell Al-Habsi for four million
-Sell Ward for one million (combined in= £5m)
-Bid £5m for Jeffren (figure sound familiar?)
-Continue to be linked with strikers, a position we are desperate for two of (anyone thinking one would be enough if we were ever, ever going to not play 442 would be mental, playing 442 it is essential) for around £5m
-Sell Matt Taylor for £2.5m
-Sign Nireoker for nowt (Big wages but we've lost more this summer)
-Buy Eagles and Mears for around £2.5m, whilst still being linked with £5m strikers.
Sounds a bit sell before buy to me.

Beautifully f*cking illustrated.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

To your first sentence: Get f*cked. I bear no relation to that conniving power-hungry cheap joker prop from a shitty 90's Batman straight-to-video film wazzock.Wandering Willy wrote:Good work Mr Osborne.Prufrock wrote:-Sign Pratley for free

To your second sentence: A good piss up? At those prices? Barely half a Chicken Wrapas (what the feck is/was that name?)

I didn't say that it was because we felt like it. I said it's daft to be saying that because if our jeffren bid or rodrigo or whoever else we've bid for had gone through. My point, if badly illustrated was that we were selling logically (surplus to requirements, rejected our contract offer, not guaranteed starter who is on high wages) it's not like were flogging everything with no intention of replacing and hoping to improve. Reo Coker and pratley for o'brien and Cohen is good business, eagles for Taylor or rodrigo.Lord Kangana wrote:And if we'd bid the £18m that was quoted for Elmander in January 2008? Theres plenty of ifs there. The fact remains, we have, as of the present moment, lowered the wage bill, and earnt more than we've spent on players. My hunch would be that this relative position won't significantly change by midinght on the 31st August. However it pans out.
If (and that is also an if) it remains so, I find it hard to conceive that it was done because we just felt like it.
Yes it's a lot of ifs as I am not Owen coyle, but as for your if coyle could be working on deals. Say two strikers at what were offering for n'gog and we've broken even or spent a little extra than we've brought in. I doubt our transfer budget is massive but then again have we ever spent like Sunderland, villa etc have?

And if we sign those two strikers and sell Cahill?

I am still of the belief that we may see another exit (Cahill aside) depending on who we land. Two new strikers in and who knows.

Then we've made a very good deal. And presumably that would get reinvested in some capacity further down the line.Lord Kangana wrote:And if we sign those two strikers and sell Cahill?
Like I said it's all Ifs as I am not coyle, gartside or anyone else who knows what's happening. Just to me it doesn't seem too bad. I'd bet that if the opportunity arose for a lucrative deal such as the Anelka one then we'd be provided with funds within a reasonable amount. Not that I have any proof.

Muamba? It seems to make some sense. I want him to stay, but I wonder whether NRC was a replacement rather than enhancement.

There's also a fat bloke in London whose current hobby is collecting Bolton players. He needs a striker and you know who he'd like.
Don't feel good about that, but two in and who knows.

Nobody said we weren't selling logically, or had no intention of replacing, or weren't hoping to improve. The point is it seems we have no money and have to box very cleverly, by selling the right people at the right time, for the right price, and buying according to similar criteria. It doesn't mean we're domed, it just means it is very difficult. I'm all for believing in the manager, I'm just not convinced we are suddenly going to pull out the two strikers and a winger we need, trouble free, before this window closes.LiOC wrote:I didn't say that it was because we felt like it. Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Sorry but it's not just on here but too many Bolton fans (not really the people on here) seem to think us having to make a few quid before replacing and expanding a squad as suggesting we're scraping the barrel for anything rather than reality of being a smaller club. We all knew beforehand that we couldn't just start chucking money all over the place. Just IF our bids had come off we would have spent a lot more presuming we wouldn't have sold anymore. Which I get is pretty meaningless.Nobody said we weren't selling logically, or had no intention of replacing, or weren't hoping to improve. I'm not convinced the rest of the squad will click into place but the point is we have no idea. For all we know coyle could spend 15 million next week or we could sell more players and be on the brink of administration. Gartside has said coyle will be backed and I trust him to not to be blatantly lying to us.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
But that's all wishy washy guesswork. All we know from the timeline of supposedly 'close deals' so far this summer, is that none of them were being done before we already had that amount in.

Equally all our deals apart from the one lined up from way back when suddenly came to the fore, including Jeffren towards the end of the USA trip. And the three completed deals happened once we'd returned. I imagine that has as much to do with it as selling players first, thought it's obvious we'd not want to be landed with too many on the wage bill that we couldn't shift!Prufrock wrote:But that's all wishy washy guesswork.
