As someone who's fairly regularly doubted Broad's consistency with the ball, I do have to wonder why Bresnan was put into bat before him (Although Bresnan has a higher First Class batting average). Seems like a strange decision to me.

Nice to see us with a wide core of good players instead of relying on just a couple. Cook just needs a decent innings to get back on track because he's a fine batsman. Bell's been solid as a rock most of the time. Thought it might be a total bowlers' test but maybe not now.
