Calm down dears, Vaz Te had a brilliant Toulon U20 tournament, and was voted best player by the coaches of all the nations (he may even have ended top scorer).
Don't get me wrong, he's a talented lad, and he may just come good. But not at the expense of a striker who can perform now.

Jeez, calcstar, have you ever seen him live ? Total wank. Utterly.

Bolton to move for Man City winger to replace injured Lee
Published 23:00 31/07/11 By Alan Nixon
Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to move for Shaun Wright-Phillips after reeling from the news that Chung-Yong Lee faces a season on the sidelines.
Coyle will open talks with Manchester City for little SWP - either on loan or to buy - and hopes to persuade the England international to come in for stricken South Korean Lee.
Wright-Phillips played and scored for a City shadow side in Dublin but Roberto Mancini will not be using him in the big games this season and has cleared the way for his exit.
The popular City star is on big wages and that may be a problem to Wanderers, but he could take a sensible contract as he lives in the area and knows he will play every week.
Coyle has cash for two more attackers. However that was thrown into the air by Lee’s horror injury against Newport County which is a double fracture that will take around ten months out of his career.
Lee is in hospital in South Wales after an operation and he will be out of football for the campaign, a cruel blow following a crunching challenge by Tom Miller who was subbed after the incident.
Coyle visited Lee yesterday and is ‘gutted’ about the break for his highly-rated wide man who had been in prime form in pre-season games.
Now Bolton will move fast to fill the gap. New boy Chris Eagles can also play on the right wing, but Coyle does not want to run with a small squad again after a dip at the end of last season through lack of numbers.
Bolton are also chasing Liverpool striker David Ngog and could go for Birmingham City’s Cameron Jerome is his value dropped. Leicester City have raised the bar in that chase.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Few goals in a under 19 tournament won't mean too much to Benfica, might up any potential transfer fee by a mil or so but thats all. Anyway didn't Rodrigo want to stay and 'fight for his place'?? Therefore cant see him coming back any time soon, especially if Alonso might be leaving for a while n that.
At this stage i'm guessing the dream for coyle, no matter how unlikely, would be a deal involving Cahill to citeh for Onuhua, SWP + 1 or 2 mil towards the striker fund. Like I said it's just a dream though.

I imagine we'll have a crack at SWP first before Weiss. SWP seems to have settled for sticking at City and trying to get in the side.
I guess his wages might be the stumbling block.
Not sure Weiss would get us very much further on really anyways, no end product, not sure he's good enough at this level.

I'd take that, in a heartbeat actually.TKIZ! wrote:Kranjcar (loan) plus Defoe and £10m = Cahill?
In fact, seriously, can anyone put a word in Coyle's ear?
As for Wright-Phillips, I'd still like him at the club, and I think under Coyle, he'd be brilliant. I doubt we're trying to buy though, because I don't believe Coyle is ignoring our striker problems, and if we are trying to buy then it suggests we actually have some money. Lots of conflicting reports too. One says he's willing to take a wage cut to play games, another says he wants to say at City. Then City say he's staying, then they say he's available. I'd far rather we try and get SWP than Weiss.
Oh and Sturridge? He'll be back in January, when he's played bugger all games for Chelsea and kicked up a fuss about playing time.
N'Gog, SWP and another attacking playing (probably a loaner) and I'd be bloody over-the-moon.

I'm shocked we haven't bid for Wayne Routledge, if we're talking about donkeys like Weiss

SWP would be ideal in the circumstances if something can be worked out.Unless Weiss has suddenly grown up and realised it's a team game I can't see any point bringing him in.Unlike a lot on here I can see the sense in bringing in Jerome and getting him under K Davies wing and N'Gog given regular playing time is well worth a gamble.Failing these options it may be time given the personel to look at something other than 442. Who knows,we might even get the odd point away from home if we do.

Weiss is an interesting one for me, you see it's probably easy enough to say not good enough etc. etc. and he does seem to have a Sturridge sized opinion of himself, without being anywhere near as good as Sturridge.BWFC_Insane wrote:I imagine we'll have a crack at SWP first before Weiss. But.
He only made 3 starts for us (albeit 13 appearances) and is credited with setting up at least 3 goals. Outside of the last 4 games, he had only bit-part appearances, being on the pitch for less than 180 minutes.
He didn't really start doing much until the 4th game from the end, when he contributed to 2 goals against Stoke when we were one down. His 3 starts were the last 3 games of the season.
So our last 6 goals in 2009/10, he had a hand in 4 of them.
Not sure I'd pay top dollar for him, but if nowt much else was happening, then maybe it wouldn't be too bad. Anelka didn't do much in his first 10 or so games for us either...

Can't decide whether this is another re-cant of a 4 year old story, or a re-cant of more recent stories and they've just got the wrong second name because they both begin with "V".David Lee's Hair wrote:The Sun wrote:Bolton want Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss on loan, and will make a third bid for Sporting Lisbon's Montenegro midfielder Simon Vukcevic.

I'm guessing he'll be the reserve tiarra.

Towards the end, as has been pointed out, Weiss did start to find an end product, far moreso than Rodrigo did.
In terms of loan fee I doubt he'll cost what others might, so I wouldn't be unhappy with him at all.

Indeedy. Buying SWP now (or anyone) would mean a 3-year large contract to fill a 9 month hole. Weiss on loan still allows any remaining funds (if any) to go towards a new striker.
