thx for replies. Now I perfectly understand local fans' viewpoints. I found out that my opinion got a bit too impatient from anger caused by Chungy's injury. It's an also big loss for our national team..so..

However, I've seen an article that SWP might join Wanderers.
Whether it's a rumor or not, I just hope that we find a perfect right winger to cover up for chungy's place, and also a perfect striker. Sturidge did a good job last season..

Chungy looked great on US tour, blistering pace and tracked back well covering every blade of grass. Top player. Just saw the tackle and the offender needs to get a year ban for assault. No excuse for that at all.

NEWPORT boss Anthony Hudson claims Tom Miller was left in tears after the challenge that left Chung-Yong Lee with a double broken leg.

The 21-year-old midfielder, formerly of Norwich City and Glasgow Rangers, clattered the South Korea international 25 minutes into the pre-season friendly at the Newport Stadium on Saturday.

He received only a yellow card from Gloucester referee Tim Wood, and was substituted immediately.

Speaking after the game, Hudson said the challenge had been entirely accidental, and that his player expressed his regret immediately.

“Tom is devastated and was sat in our dugout in tears,” he said. “It's totally out of character for him, he's the most hard-working, committed, honest lad you could wish to meet.

“To see all that unfold, he was in tears. But it's something that happens; it won't be the first, nor the last. It took the gloss off the day.”

Miller had scored an own goal prior to his ankle-high challenge, which occurred after Chung-Yong had spun off the left wing and played a quick ball to team-mate Chris Eagles.

Hudson admitted the class gap between the two players had also been a factor.

“In the Conference, that's probably a great challenge but the fella's got such great feet and he's quick, he had already moved on,” he said.

“If you're training with him every day then you might get an idea of how quick he is – but there certainly was no malice in it at all.”

That's pretty much the way I saw it. The guy starts his challenge with Chungy about 5 yards away and doesn't have the speed of thinking to alter too quickly when he finds Chungy's not where he expected.

I think on balance, I would agree that playing teams of that standard with our first team probably isn't good.

It's an interesting debate, should we play these sort of games or shouldn't we.
Thing is, we could realistically draw a team like this in the cup. For that reason alone I'd rather we did play them in order to expose our players to lower league opponents.

Besides, who else would we play pre-season? Wigan and Blackburn five times each cos they're nearby and of a similar skillset?

I didn't suggest not playing lower level teams.

I did suggest that playing non-league teams with your entire 1st team in play, might not be too bright.

I'd be inclined to keep it to teams within the Football League, rather than outside of it.

Why not play the Bulls Head and go the whole hog? I'm sure the ability to skip past "Big Syd" who's still pi$$ed from the night before, is invaluable in bringing football back to the community.

And it's nothing like Arsenal fans. I accept that we have an injured player and that it wasn't intentional, but there are ways of trying to minimise your risks which are big enough when your playing other Prem teams (as has been correctly pointed out).

Chungy is one of our three best players: along with Cahill and Holden, he's perhaps the only one you can imagine improving a Big Four squad.

He'll be missed, because his speed (of leg and mind) and creativity is matched by his tireless work ethic.

The potential replacements mentioned - SWP and Weiss - have their own abilities and plus-points, but I'd rather have CYL than either.
