Have we any more players Peter "Pimp" Harrison represents? If not When Jussi leaves for wet spam Harrison should be shot the second he is spotted in Bolton, it ain't just the Geordie woman that are ugly!!
Re: Jussi turns down new contract
Sorry, I disagree. You are talking about a sporting world where there are no comparisons to real people.BWFC_Insane wrote:feck sake, it's relative. You are well off compared to a homeless person, doesn't mean you'd be happy with a 50% wage cut even though you'd still survive!Choppers wrote:Yeah, because Jussi must be absolutely struggling to pay the bills on his current deal, I'm sure.BWFC_Insane wrote:Would you try to get the best deal possible for yourself and your family?
Jussi isn't getting a wage cut either, so not sure where that analogy comes from.
Jussi will more than likely live quite comfortably, I doubt he struggles for disposable income, and we're not trying to cut his wages. We let his (c*nt of an) agent hold us to ransom time and time again.
We talk of cutting the wage bill, well, with Al Habsi and Bogdan in the wings, loyalty aside - there was a chance here to do it, and given Jussi's age, it was a cracking chance at that.

How do you know we aren't offering reduced terms? And every manager we've had seems to rate Jussi as number 1. Think there might just be something in that. And I will be controversial here, but from what I've seen of Bogdan I think he's better than Habsi!

bobo (with new phone so speellinge erores are my fault now) agrees totally with PT shocker !!Peter Thompson wrote:IMO he's been a liability in the last few years and costs us quite a few points - he's passed it, he's not a top keeper anymore.
Doesn't command his box, rarely comes off his line to collect crosses, always seems to go down onto his knees early instead of staying upright on his feet, I think his overall technique in the last few years has been poor and he doesn't inspire the confidence that he used to when he was a decent keeper.
At 36 and already a multi millionaire what more does he expect from the club....a 1 year contract is about right IMO, the club should stick to its guns and if he doesn't like it let him leave - but it doesn't make much sense letting Al Habsi ago without this being resolved one way or another.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Jussi turns down new contract
Ok, let me put it this way. IF we are offering reduced terms, then our manager (or whoever deals with contract offers/negotiations) is a prize plank. We all know who his agent is, and we all know what he's about. It's not like this is the first time we've had public contract dealings over Jussi.BWFC_Insane wrote:How do you know we aren't offering reduced terms? I don't know enough about Bodgan if I'm honest, but I wouldn't have felt nervous going into the season with Al Habsi as first choice, so if you say Bogdan is better, then I still maintain that those two could have been the future. I really can't understand why we didn't resolve the Jussi situation BEFORE letting Al Habsi go to what may well be a rival club next season.
I don't think Jussi is "past it", but he makes me nervous at the moment. He seems to be developing severe weaknesses that cost us goals, least of all that peculiar "drop to the knees and flap at the ball" thing he's doing at the mo.

Ol' Garty is on top of it.
I tweeted him something about it being textbook Peter Harrison tactics and he said;
"why anybody would believe what 2nd rate journo prints at the instruction of a 3rd rate agent is beyond belief."
I do wonder why Jussi hasn't fecked him off in the past.

Well yes a few of us on here said the same. Doesn't stop folk believing what suits them! Jussi is a good guy, done more for our club than anyone could know, and is apparently a key dressing room voice.jimbo_bwfc wrote:Ol' Garty is on top of it.

Jussi is declining and you are more than happy to either extend his contract more than a year or when we are cutting or trying to manage the wage bill give him a large wedge because he's a nice guy? And sorry whatever the hell Jussi had to say in the dressing room would carry as much weight as sorry by Adolf Hittler! You fancy him?

Should have kept Al Habsi, really rated the Omani international.

I personally hope he stays.
Bogdan is good though, I thought he was English; he isn't.
Bogdan made his international debut for Hungary over the summer, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 friendly victory in Luxembourg.

kendonagasaki (Stoke City): No better than we already have, remember the 5 goals we put past him in the semi ? No thanks !

It kinda seems everyone but the people who matter at our club rated him!Holden midfielder wrote:Should have kept Al Habsi, really rated the Omani international.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Re: Jussi turns down new contract
I think Al Habsi would have wanted to go to Wigan regardless given the way they took to him there. As for Jussi,I think we can live without him, I'd expect Bogdan to be pushing him out of the team this year and him to be taking on some coaching /development role.I suppose it's down to where he thinks he should be and what he thinks he's now worth. I'd like to see him stay for much the same reasons that I was glad to see Gardner stay but if he wants to make unreasonable demands then it won't do him any harm to take a look around and see if anyone will meet them.
Re: Jussi turns down new contract
I think some of you lot have forgot the Aiden Davison days, the transition period between Branagan and Jussi was painful, Jussi has been solid for the last 10years, A few mistakes, in ten years is to be expected. think of the points he has won us.
The fact that he just brought a house in Lostock spent 1million buying it, knocked it down and built a another for 5million would suggest he isn't in a rush to move.
Bullshit paper talk.

So if my maths is right, he spent £6m on his house? In Bolton?
Is it made of gold bars or something?
