Is it made of gold bars or something?
Google maps doesn't even go up there? now that's impressive. that's worth spending 6m on.

Re: Jussi turns down new contract
If he's spent £6m building it, then it'll be worth more than that.
That is one seriously large house. I'm guessing the roof slates are made of platinum or something.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Also i'm guessing he's not hurrying back to sunny Finland anytime soon, even after his career ends?

He's been over here that long
That said, if I retired with his money I'd be off to Thailand, living like a king

I can't imagine Jussi wants to go anywhere - in which case we have a fairly strong hand...
1. nobody better than us wants him
2. at his age - why would he want to go somewhere else and prove himself all over again?
3. his family is well settled as they are
so - I suspect we have a strong hand - and it wouldn't surprise me if we are playing it. Jussi will eventually sign what we offer him - there aren't really any other decent options for him.

OC doesn't seem in the least concerned and reckons they'll work something out. He claims Jussi hasn't turned down a contract extension at all and talks are ongoing. (Today's BN).

If he goes, he goes. Is anyone really that arsed about it?? Is he really that good we'd mourn his leaving? Nope, not for me.

Be sad to see a great servant of the football club leave? Yes indeed.
No different than Davo in that respect.
Whether we'd have stayed in the Prem more than a season or two without him is certainly open to debate.
Re: Jussi turns down new contract
I'd be arsed. Even if you remove the sentiment from it, he's our best 'keeper by a mile and still one of the best in the Premier League.
Adding the sentiment back in, he's been a fantastic servant for the club and it'd be nice to see him finish by breaking Hopkinson's record.

Aye we should have just fooked the Nat Lofthouse off once he was too old to play. All this stuff about statues and exhibitions what a waste of money for sentimental bollocks.Hoboh wrote:Sentimental twaddle of the first degree!!Tombwfc wrote:I'd be arsed. Jussi is our longest serving player on the books, could have let his contract run down on several occasions when he has been rated as one of the best going and found himself a bigger club than ourselves. Id say his actions speak pretty loudly and are certainly a lot more relevant that his agent doing what agents are paid to do. He didn't leave, he stayed and is now in the top 10 of all time BWFC appearances. As for whether he is still good enough, the experts at our club say he is. And their opinion is more valid than anything spouted on here.

Ummmm I cannot remember ANY SERIOUS inquiries or bids other than the mumblings of his pimp, can you? Aye cos all the goals we concede is down to the keeper. Fulham had a poor defensive record when VDS was there. Still didn't stop Fergie buying him did it? And if you seriously think Jussi on a free wouldn't have had a raft of clubs to choose from you are deluding yourself!

Re: Jussi turns down new contract
Jussi is rated by the big 4 as either a no1 (Arsenal) or a no2. He still has 2-3 prime years left. Al Habsi still has his best years in front of him though, hence long term a better investment. Bogdan's handling concerns me, top YOuNG keeper bit ready to be a Prem#1? Maybe with a little more seasoning.
Real issue is not contract though, it is that d@mn pink keeper shirt! If we could show that much boldness in the transfer market we would sign CR7 ...
