You might be on to something, but considering all the Villa players we've bought in the last few seasons, perhaps the two claret lots should complete the triangle. Boa Morte replaces Ashley Young: I can see McLeish going for that...Lord Kangana wrote:Can we have Parker aswell? You know, reciprocate Sam's buying policy.

I can see McLeish out of a job very quickly. If anyone should be in for Barton or Parker, I'd have my money on them.
Who have they signed appart from N'Zogbia, anyway?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I'd have been more impressed with 'Left Back' to the tune of 'Get Back'Lofthouse Lower wrote:Yesterdayohjimmyjimmy wrote:Treatment page said 1st August but i think thats a bit optimistic.

I like the internal rhyme of "wrong['un]" with "long". Bold decision to abandon the original's internal rhymes in lines five ("shite" should rhyme with "play" etc), six ("know" should rhyme with "play") and seven ("Alonsoooo" should rhyme with "play"). Come to think of it the original's a bit samey. You win.
LK, the work Villa fan would settle for 17th now. And he's one of the most upbeat people I know. Barton will expect (and should get) better offers. So should Parker. They're more likely to get Warren Barton and Tony Parkes...

meanwhile... at the transfer newsdesk...
talksport wrote:Former Real Madrid youngster Jaime Navarro has snubbed the chance of Premier League football to join Kettering Town.
Navarro, 19, enjoyed a successful trial at Bolton Wanderers and boss Owen Coyle offered him a contract. But the ambitious Blue Square Premier outfit made an 11th hour bid for the free agent, who was advised by Cristiano Ronaldo to try his luck in England.
And Navarro has been convinced to join the ambitious Poppies, believing regular first-team football will be better for his development.
Kettering are backed by Asian businessman Imraan Ladak, who has moved the club to the former home of Rushden and Diamonds, Nene Park, and has lofty ambitions to take the club into the Football League.
Navarro's agent Jonathan Hope said: "I am delighted to have agreed terms with Kettering Town. Imraan Ladak has big plans and put an offer on the table that was too good to turn down.
"Jaime will develop further there and I stand by my statement he will play in the Premier League within three years. My sincere thanks go to Cristiano Ronaldo for helping me get this kid here."

Fantastic decision

and - slightly more worryingly...
the voice of bolton wrote:Now this would be interesting, with Roque Santa Cruz down the pecking order at City, reports suggest he is a possible loan target for the Whites boss.
As long as Santa Cruz still knows where the net is, and can knock in some sweet goals like he did at Blackburn, we’d be more than happy to have him down at the ‘bok.

in other news.... KD is mightily impressed by young Eaveso...
Clubcall wrote:Bolton skipper Kevin Davies believes youngster Tom Eaves has the potential to fill his boots in the coming years at the Reebok Stadium.
Davies has been very impressed by the Liverpudlian teenager during pre-season after he travelled with the first team on their tour of the USA. Eaves was plucked by the Trotters from Oldham in a £250,000 deal, but has spent the last 12 months playing for the reserves and a big future is predicted for the player who is currently working his way back from a knee injury, that he picked up against Orlando.
"We didn't see too much of him last season because I think he was groomed to make sure he was ready," Davies told The Bolton News.
"But certainly during the pre-season, with the fitness and running, he's looked so strong and like he's got all the attributes to be a top striker.
"He's only a young boy, so if there's anything I can do to try and help him, I will. The manager rates him really highly, so it's disappointing that the injury has come when it has.
"But I've chatted to him and said there will be opportunities, so I'm sure he'll come back okay."

Some sweet goals like he did at Blackburn three years ago - the only season in his career in which he got over 10 goals?

I hear that Owen Coyle now has a life-size cut out of Dora The Explorer outside his office, with the words 'you must be at least *this* spanish to play for our club' written on it

another deal done...
Turkish tyre producer Lassa Tyres has sealed a partnership agreement with Borussia Mönchengladbach Football Club for the 2011/12 football season. The news follows an earlier contract that saw Lassa agree to partner with Bolton Wanderers in the UK as well as an advertising deal at RCD Espanyol in La Liga for the 2011/12 season.

He can't, for example, be better than Blakeman in that position - so why bother?
Sounds like heads being turned at a shiny foreign option.
