Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
In fairness to Jerome, in 2009-10 he scored 11, Davies has only bettered that once in 8 attempts.
He's obviously not a clinical goalscorer but if we're getting a half-decent big man with more pace and abit more of a goal threat then he might be mouldable to replace Davies.
I'd rather us spend 3-4M on Jerome than 7-8M on Shane Long who had a good season last year but otherwise quite frankly looked abit shit. Seems overpriced to me. At 3-4M I'd definitely take a punt on Long but they're overvaluing him a lot.

SSN reporting John Carew having a medical at West Ham - i take it they wont be after Ngog anymore then?
Unless the striker we're in talks with is Carlton Cole..dum dum DUMMMMMM!
Also Sneijder 1/6 on to join Man City amid reports in Italy that he has signed for 31m. (pounds, not Euros, for those that care

well, fair play to them. They can't risk thinning that squad out can they ?!ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Apparently Citeh arent letting SWP leave til they have a replacement.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Y'know when you've only got Adam Johnson, James Milner and Vladimir Weiss as back-up in that position, it really starts to become a worry.

Bolton Wanderers Football Club are set to end their interest in David N’Gog.
Owen Coyle is eager to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season, and he has set his sights on a move for the Liverpool forward.
However, despite failing to force his way into the Reds side following his 2008 arrival, the Anfield club are demanding a fee of £4.5million for his signature.
And according to The Mirror, this is a price Bolton are refusing to meet for the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to West Ham United.

Bolton Wanderers are back in for Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome.
Bolton bid £5 million for Jerome last month, a deal that was turned down by Birmingham but with City’s major shareholder Carson Yeung having his assets frozen the Blues have to trim their squad and Bolton will be hoping that a renewed bid will be accepted for the 24-year-old.
Fulham had a bid of £3 million turned down earlier this week and are not expected to return with a fresh bid while Stoke City were reported in June to have bid £4 million for the striker as part of a £16 million joint bid for Jerome and central defender Scott Dann, however the Potters were unable to agree personal terms.
Jerome has scored 42 goals in 201 games during a five-year spell at Birmingham after arriving from Cardiff City for £4 million in 2006. However, he endured a lean time last season with just three Premier League goals, the last of which came in a 3-2 defeat at Stoke in November.
Meanwhile, Bolton are still waiting to hear from Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. The Trotters have been given permission to talk to the 29-year-old along with Premier League rivals Sunderland and Wigan Athletic.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle is said to be in talks with Wright-Phillips after both Chung-yong Lee and Tyrone Mears suffered broken legs in the past week.
Frig sake

I fail to believe that Coyle would say "well I'm not paying 4.5m for N'Gog, let's go back and get Jerome for 5m instead"
Also Gartside confirmed that the supposed '5m bid' from us a month back was complete fabrication.

Someone at the Mirror must be on a commission for getting Jerome sold.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Coyle 'wants value' not the best player he can afford to buy
So, if he thinks Ngog is worth 3 million, but thinks Jerome is worth 5 or more, it all makes absolute sense....to Coyle
