West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I think you should stop following Bish around like a lost little puppy with nothing better to do. It's tedious.
Do one.

I love Sam

He's a fat prick.

Love how he's talking about how he left us cos we lacked ambition and weren't prepared to take him to the champions league. Well how's that worked out, surely in the time he's left hes won some trophies and qualified for the champs league a couple of times? No? Well he must be managing a top 6 premiership side at least, I mean he is that good at delivering 'the module'? No? Well must have a solid mid table prem side ready for an assault on Europe? No......premiership side? No........

Back in the championship, well done Sam, well done!
Hell hath no fury.

Fcuking short memory you have. Remind me of a better Bolton manager in your lifetime.

Thought not.

Thinking hes a wanker doesn't mean you can't think he did a very fine job for the majority of his time with us

Indeed.

Its quite possible to think of Gary as both a w*nker and a shit manager.

i think sam shouldve put his own money in, in the 'champions league chase' season.

really.

he'd've been a hero.

.. or lost his own money.

Ooh the bitterness. Big Sam is the prime reason we have enjoyed such a long spell in the PL. In the end there certainly are a lot of players that will follow him anywhere so he can't be that bad of a guy. Possibly our greatest manager ever, and thus he has my respect.

Think he was getting his seasons mixed up. 2 years before we were very close to champions league and a player or two could have changed that. The last season I think he was pushing it a little. I do think Gartie was very content with the Allardyce model and found him a very cheap cost effective way to stay in the PL which is about all a small team like Bolton can hope for. Allardyce had bigger dreams though, which I can only respect, unfortunately at Bolton he became a victim of his own success formula. As a result it was time to move on. Understand his bitterness/disappointment because at Bolton it was the closest he ever got to achieve that success. For Bolton on the other hand we had to start forking out the cash to stay in the PL. With Coyle we are now looking for that even balance which might have been what Big Sam was asking for all along. Anyway he's long gone but I still have fond memories for what he did for this club. Sure he talks some crap at times, but who doesn't, hell I just finished typing a bunch of it. I think it's a bit of a compliment that he continues to prattle on about Bolton. Just goes to show that we as a small little club were a bit part of his life and success in his career.

No it isn't an insane load of old bollox. Signing a couple of players may well have seen us in the Champions League.

Whether we had the money or not is a moot point.

I agree with all of that apart from the respect bit.
Can't help but smile everytime he's sacked, so here's to him leaving West Ham "to spend more time with his family"
And yeah, I am still bitter.

That said, I reserve the right to do a massive u-turn on this should he ever come back to us in the future. Which of course he won't cos he's bigger and better than BWFC. Apparently.

Aye but two players at what cost? He'd already spent 10M that season, net!

In fact don't think we'd sold a meaningful player since Ricketts, so everything had been net spend. Let's say he wanted two players at say 6M each. That would be 22M net spend over the season.

If we did make fourth place would he then have wanted to spend more to get through the qualifier? I'd say that's almost certain given we were already risking it all on qualifying. At what point would he say ok, I'm happy with what I've spent? If his ambition was to be in the champions league I'd say as a certainty he was at the wrong club. Fact is he's not even in the premiership now.

And as for W4E I think he was a great manager for us, but the man is a complete walking ego and embarrassment. Don't see why that shouldn't be pointed out ala Benitez, Wenger etc as is the way on here, repeatedly.

Just having a look at ex-Bolton v Cardiff game. Not too much brilliance on display and Cardiff have played most of the football towards half time. Nolan unlucky with a good shot that clipped a team-mate.0-0.

That O Brien and Taylor are doing well for West Ham. Worth a punt?
