Names that jump to mind who are available are Andy Johnson, Carlton Cole, Robbie Keane and Yakubu. Wages permitting the name that leaps out between those four guesses would be Keane.
ANELKA :D
Pedersen.

What about Bellamy? You saying he's this supposed mystery striker?

Not sure he can't train after bloody matches due to his dodgy knees and thought he was off to Sunderland?

As a player great, but whether he'd be fit enough, ever, who knows?

He exists, and is a striker. At the moment that is almost enough in itself. Played a lot of games for Cardiff last year. If we can get him fit for most of a season he would be by far our best striker.

With the season six days away I'd take him happily right now. We have the players to play off him and could do lot worse.

Ha, just had a look at the account, doubting it was actually Nixon. But it's very similar to the posts he used to make on the Rovers forum, which he appears to have now deserted, this twitter account explains it. He used to play "guess the mystery man" games with Rovers fans a lot. They rarely ended up signing the players in question.

Reading through some of the posts, Keane would appear to fit, apart from him not being too expensive unless he was talking about a fee. Can't think of anyone else unless we are trying to pull off a real coup for a Defoe or the likes, which I doubt! Bellamy also fits I guess.

Bellamy or Keane would be ideal as they have scored goals at any club they have been at.

I would prefer Keane as we need him playing regularly for Ireland :D

Nixon's got me interested in this 'mystery player'....

He was in conversation with a tweeter @JamieWalsh93

Some quotes from the conversation by Nixon

"Mystery guy is not financially crippling. So it's a goer. Good lad too by all accounts. Ngog hard because Kenny needs him."

"Maybe not as quiet as I wanted on this one ... Two other Prem sides involved now. But Bolton better than them. #gameon"

"Moving well. There is opposition. So need to stay under wraps for now. U may sign three attackers altogether."

"Wasn't aware of his availability. Nice player. Coyley's type. Fingers crossed."

and his latest tweet....

"if u get the players u want u will be better than last season. And won't blow my handicap bet this time #stillpeeved"

Can i just ask what is his actually relationship with us because he is seemingly focusing everything on us!

Good mates with Coyle apparently.

And Gartside seems to be following him...

Looking at the poor City defending today maybe Bellamy & SWP to Bolton plus £10m and Cahill this would do for me.

I am worried Cahill is going to leave at the last minute leaving us short at the back as well as up front!!

If Cahill is going to leave I hope the deal is done by the end of this week, leaving the rest of the month to recruit players. Looking at our squad at the moment does make me a bit on the nervous side.

You never know eaves and Obadejayi may come good??
