Our favourite (or not, you decide) Mirror journo has tweeted that the mystery player is a "loan with a view to a permanent deal". Opens up further possibilities.

Also earlier tweeted re Cahill that clubs chasing him are "light on cash big on talk, wenger can't decide and Spurs only want swaps"

It's always fun speculating. Didn't we try to get Pavlyuchenko in January?

Bobby Zamora?

Indeed we did. They tried to palm us off with Keane instead.

He's also said two clubs competing with us and that it's still too sensitive to go to print. I'd not get too excited till it goes in the Mirror. Seen all this before on the Rovers forum, deals break down all the time. He also has a habit of over egging how good these mystery players actually are.

Having said that it's certainly entertaining stuff and gives us all something to talk about.

I can't be bothered trawling through all Nixon's tweets as there seem to be so many on the one subject, but could Bellamy fit the bill?

As BWFCi states, Nixon seems to have had previous on the Rovers forum with similar stuff so I'm trying not to get too carried away myself. Illes is very quiet about the whole matter as well, although I'm not sure how ITK he is either.

It's not that he's bullshitting, it's that any transfer can break down anytime. We will be chasing top players all the time exciting ones, just without Nixon's twitter you wouldn't find out and get excited. Like I say when it gets to the stage of going into print then get excited as it is it could breakdown or fizzle out anytime!

Well you know, some people can't distinguish between lies and changing situations and information. Just saying!

I'd rather have Owen.

Statistically, about the same % as Steinsson knocking a 75 yard pass to Matt Taylor who then beat three men on the outside, before knocking it into Elmander with his back to goal, who trapped, turned and dinked it over Edwin Van Der Saar, to put us 5-0 up at home.

:-)
