maybe it's a quiz-based phone-a-friend transfer-scenario?

or maybe he's talking out of his arse?

Aye - it's the "OK we'll pay you whatever you want" call.

interesting....
Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner has confirmed that he will leave Arsenal.

A move out of the Emirates Stadium has been mooted for the 23-year-old striker who suffered from injury for most of last season.

Speaking at Hampden before Denmark trained ahead of Wednesday night's friendly against Scotland, Bendtner was asked if he was set to leave the London club and he replied: "Yes. I have done my part as well as I can and it's up to Arsenal now to sort it out, I can't do anything more.

"Hopefully it will be sorted soon but as I said to the Danish press, when I know something they will.

"I would like to play at a place where you are happy and play every week, that is the most important thing for any football player and hopefully that will happen soon."

Asked if Stoke City were one of the teams he has spoken to, Bendtner laughed then replied: "I can't say anything about who I have been speaking to, but hopefully it will all get sorted out soon."

Denmark coach Morten Olsen believes Bendtner needs to get regular first-team football.

He said: "It is good for himself if he plays first-team football.

"You don't play football for 50 years, you have to enjoy it as long as possible.

"Of course it is also a money question but a national player has a lot of ambition and wants to play football.

"Nicklas has been injured for a year but he can be a good player again."

Call to agree price, call from agent, call from selling club to agree deal etc etc.....

Could be anything. Deals can take a while and are complex, it's not football manager!

Fair do's but it does beg the question how come Citeh can wrap up a deal for the likes of Aguero in a couple of days unless they literally just handed him the cheque book?

Oh right, just answered my own question. Nothing to see here, move along

There are five 'calls' needed in the transfer handbook. We have done four of them. DUH. :D.

Bendtner would be amazing but absolutely would not fit the not break the bank bit.

He's just been on SSN, could it be part of a Cahill/loan and cash deal?

It certainly has, plus he said that it was up to Arsenal to sort it out. Sort it out with Cahill and he comes the other way?

Cos they didn't the Aguero deal was bubbling on for weeks and weeks. You just didn't hear about it, not being a Man City fan and paying such close attention!

And it's not Bendtner, don't be ridiculous. Not a crowd pleaser, not more mature, not likely to go on loan!

Bendtner's ego wouldn't fit into Owen's family friendly club.... Bendtner's a known nice person so I doubt Owen would want him and run the risk of runining the team morale!

Bendtner is not coming to us. Some serious interest in him from other clubs in England, Germany, Portugal and Spain. Atletico Madrid was a club mentioned to me. Stoke have been mentioned too in the media.

From what I've heard though, the striker may indeed come to us from North London...

He doesn't fit any of the clues, Arsenal want 10M for him, he will want huge wages, wants to play Champs league, and has a huge ego. That enough?

It's the wages. The rest can be sorted if Cahill is off that way, but there is no-way having made such a fuss of keeping wages down, we could afford him. I think his ego is misunderstood. I don't think he would necessarily be disruptive as long as he was playing every week, which he would be. His problem seems to be recognising other players are better than him. I think the 'regular games to get yourself back to a top club' motivation would be fairly easy, depending on who else is in for him.

I kinda hope it isn't Robbie Keane, coz a' all bets are then off in the 'who gets injured next' game, and coz he isn't that good, OR that exciting, and I think we all need a lift!

If its not Keane ? maybe just maybe its Pavlyuchenko (who's approaching 30), Pavlyuchenko would be a fantastic signing IMO

Wages again. And tempting Rushkie wives away from London. Would be cracking too though.
