Tuncay is a bit like Elmander, if Johan didn't work hard and had a bad attitude, so he'd be an odd choice. He does fit though.

I know it's been mentioned before but I'm thinking the striker maybe Eduardo.

Tuncay works hard. He just has never scored goals. Would add some craft and movement upfront though.Tombwfc wrote:Tuncay is a bit like Elmander, if Johan didn't work hard and had a bad attitude, so he'd be an odd choice. He does fit though.

Nixon tweets his final clue...
My first is in ocean but never in sea,
my second's in wasp but never in bee.
My third is in glider and also in flight,
my whole is a creature that comes out at night.
What am I?

Rumour has it that Tuncay Sanli was seen at the Reebok. Now how’s that for a rumour? The ex-Middlesbrough, current Wolfsburg player may be heading to the Reebok?
With a transfer market value of around £3.5m – Sanli could be a decent signing, however this is a rumour and whether it has any truth to it, we don’t yet know – hey, at least it’s a different name thrown into the pot of the regular Shaun Wright Phillips & Cameron Jerome articles you read every hour or so.
So, be sure to give us your thoughts on this one using the comments below.
If you think you’ve spotted a player or two at the Reebok, you’re welcome to drop us a mail.
I bolded the last bit for Lofthouse Lower. I'd take Tuncay. Not a conventional striker per se but a creative talented player.

Would be completely underwhelmed by Tuncay, who never seems to have fitted in over here and seems best suited to the central attacking-midfield role in a 4-2-3-1 (not a priority).
Would also, however, be willing to have my mind changed by proof.

I just can't see it being Tuncay, only signed for Wolfsburg in January and I'm sure he said it was his dream to play for them?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Would be completely underwhelmed by Tuncay, who never seems to have fitted in over here and seems best suited to the central attacking-midfield role in a 4-2-3-1 (not a priority).

Does this mean we don't get Dusty Bin, Bish?

I think with our current squad of no strikers plus Eagles, Blake, Mavies, Tuncay etc in the AMC position and Reo Coker, Pratley, Muamba, Davis as the two DMCs, that would be our best formation.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Tuncay's most recent premiership form - 2 seasons at stoke netted 5 goals in 44 appearances...
he was a lot more impressive in previous years in abroad-land (and reasonably good at Boro)

sounds like we getting more desperate , like a drunk at 3am on a sunday morning, anything that moves will do
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
I think we signed Eagles to give us the option of playing him just off the striker (Davies) this season but the injury to Lee might force us to play Eagles on the right - leaving a gap for that player 'just off' the top man.
Having said that if we sign Wright-Phillips from City then he'll play on the right and Eagles will assume the role hovering around Davies.
Tuncay fits the 'off the striker' role more than any other on the pitch but i'm not sure he's consistent enough.
In Coyle we trust...

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Good player Tuncay, very skillful & talented....and the rumours are growing
He's not an out an out centre forward, plays more in the hole just of the main striker - would be an ambitious signing by Coyle because I think it would definately signal an intention to play more football on the deck.
He's not scored loads but if I recall correctly (and I may be wrong) some of the ones he's scored were Okocha esk screamers...
Probably very wishful thinking but if (big if) the 3 rumoured players possibly coming in are Tuncay, Ngog & SWP I think that we'd have a very good side next year in terms of attacking options

we need some forwards , we already have 16 midfielders.
scottish managers and their habbit of playing midfielders up front wont do us any good.
i remember mcginlay being dropped for mcalister .
